Maya, Kamila, Daria together:

Look how tall Maya is
Having a team of same age friends around you is one of the benefits of being part of a large group.
And it's a part of Tutberidze effect, same age skaters trying what friends can do. Healthy competition.
From the Goncharenko interview:
"Eteri managed to find such a working order, where children come to the ice every day and fight. They fight for the elements, for her attention, fight with themselves and with each other. Therefore, her athletes are so steadfast and stable in competitions."
They may fight with each other, but they are also comrades. Not necessarily friends, but they share the same passion and pride and won't let anybody that take away from them. United they stand tall.
I am interested to see how sustainable it is for these young women to maintain their friendships/working relationships with each other at the senior level. I think it must be very difficult to see your competitors every day if you yourself are struggling. Eteri will have four senior Russian ladies this year. What will the #4 girl do? How will she handle being #4? Or maybe the competition will be close enough that there is no #4? Last season we saw Trusova/Kostornaia/Shcherbakova all trade places on the podium, with no clear #1. But what if one of them begins to fall behind, or maybe Alina does? I think maintaining a friendly atmosphere will be tough. Of course Eteri can manage it through a lot of discipline, and the girls all know how to behave themselves, but it's difficult to imagine that it won't breed a lot of resentment, jealousy, stress, etc.
It all depends how the girls grow into their characters and personalities as adolescents and young adults. Nothing if for certain, but I don't think there will be a powerplay sort of plan by setting the skaters up against each other. That won't work over long time when you meet each other daily. Figure skating is a highly individual sport, each skater has her own strengths and weaknesses. The skaters all work for themselves in the first place, #TeamTutberidzeForProgress will see to that. Individual, but not isolated because you can be certain everybody keeps a keen eye open, spying on how the others are doing. When they grow older, they learn to accept the differences I hope.
This new season it is all open and everybody gets an equal start of sorts. But I can still remember Kostornaya saying she wished she were born on the other side of the age line, so she could have one year in the seniors alone, without competition of Trusova or Shcherbakova.
Anyway, we'll see at Test Skates how things stand. Perhaps Perviy Kanal will tease us with some clips from training/preparations before the event starts?
Eteri adds a lot to her pupils score wise. No doubt about it. And then when are top pupils end up leaving her which has happened a few times none of them skate as well after leaving her as they did when they were with Eteri. and it's not just being coached by her it's the entire staff is a whole coordination they have is a unit is amazing and the students benefit from that. Now, will the Test Skates prove that Tutberidze’s “rejects, only average working material” achieve better results than some of those “unearthly talents” of any other glamorous or illustrious trainer?
Because as has been proven in practical studies of the Tutberidze Effect, a hard working plodder in the hands of a competent and honest team of progressive trainers, will always end up stronger than any of those most talented figure skaters with their inflated ego's in the hands of a stubborn coach with outdated approaches and tastes?

At one of the Moscow rinks the Mistress of Crystal Mountain settled herself down
Her cool temper is known all around, and not only by hearsay. Her keen eye distinguishes nuggets from rubble.
She lured Danill, the master craftsman, to her and gave him strict orders - to create from raw material the richest colours, unlike anything we have never ever seen before.
And Daniil has been working tirelessly, in a hurry to complete the work on time.
And now let's look into the Mistresses treasured malachite chest:
- Diamond (Alina Zagitova). Remains unscathed even in the strongest fire. Diamond displays all colours, but remains transparent, like a drop of water.
- Emerald (Aleksandra Trusova). A gem of the highest grade. Attracts attention, captivates the eye.
- Rubin (Anna Schherbakova). A gem of the first order. Noble and luxurious, best paired with diamond.
- Sapphire (Alyona Kostornaya). A royal, noble stone. By its beauty and value it is equal with diamond. Forms a delicate connection with the physical world.
This season we are about to see all this splendour in a completely new light.

Is that an article written by an actual journalist? Sounds like a strange fan fiction straight off a 14-year-old's Tumblr lol
Tutberidze finally brought up the perfect skater. Will Kamila outshine everyone?
