2019-20 Russian Ladies' Figure Skating

She has a great role model in Alina for all this :)

Maybe it was my omission, but I didn't see any of Alina's posts thanking to the coaches, and to the team she belonged to - Team Europe.
Instead, I've seen some posts only with her in the new image from the free program and thanking for the gifts she received.

she didn't do a thank you post publicly on instagram for JO, but i am sure she thanked her coaches off the internet. just because one doesn't do it for the whole world to see, doesn't mean it isn't done at all. besides, Alina does post thank yous to her team publicly, most recently for her world gold medal...and i'm sure this competition doesn't have the same meaning for Alina, a 3rd year senior, as it does for Sasha, a 1st year at only her 2nd competition.

You know, this is just ridiculous. I don‘t know the reasons for you not liking Alina (you wouldn‘t tell me when I wrote you a PM to not derail the thread so I assume you don‘t have any and are just a troll. And no, don‘t go and state them now in this thread, we really don‘t need that) but it‘s just not cool to use Sasha as a mean to pit her against Alina. They‘re young girls and those pseudo rivalries some fans make are ridiculous. Just let them skate.

Nevertheless, here we go: Alina doesn‘t post much at all on instagram other than some sponsoring stuff. Still...

GPF Vancouver, thanking the team

You might have noticed, Alina is a third year senior, so an event like JO where she‘s been for the third time now is not as special as it might be for Sasha who just entered the senior ranks and experiences all this for the first time. Now, you could of course compare Alina‘s lack of “thank you“ posts in her first senior year (since you apparently don‘t have anything else to do) but that‘s an Olympic year and the tensions were running so high that Alina basically didn‘t even post at all once the competitions began. But she always thanks her coaches, that‘s like the first thing she says at every press conference. Just because she doesn‘t post an explicit “thank you coaches!“ post on her instagram every time she goes to competitions doesn‘t mean she‘s not gracious or whatever.

You can’t really compare Alina - who’s a seasoned competitor by now - to someone like Anna or Sasha who are all new to senior competitions and experience that new stuff. If you‘d looked, Evgenia, who’s similar in the aspect that they’ve both competed on the senior level for a longer time now, doesn‘t rush with a post like that after every competition either but like Alina, she always thanks her coaches and her team when it comes to important events, like the Worlds.

I don‘t even know why I‘m responding so lengthily to your post. Just wanted to say that your passive-agressive comments annoy me. A lot. I don‘t know why you seem to like tension so much but you did the same thing when Alina was moving up to seniors. Just that she was in the position Sasha is now and you pit her against Evgenia. What shall I bet that as soon as Kamila shows up it will be all the same again but with Sasha being the one the snark is directed at for being “overscored“ or “not gracious enough“.

It‘s one thing to criticize the judges. I‘ve done that too. A lot. It‘s another to constantly make passive aggressive comments about the personality of young people. Alina is 17. Sasha 15. Just let them skate.

I don't like how you're portraying Alina as someone who is so full of herself and only appreciates gifts. A lot of skaters post pictures of themselves from their programs and the gifts they received.

Also, she doesn't have to publicly thank her coaches for it to matter.

On point. [emoji122]

Alina, Anna, Aleksandra, Alyona or any other Russian skater for that matter are very appreciative of the gifts they receive. They sort through them like a ritual and you can be pretty sure that if you leave a return address you will get a personal 'thank you' reply.
Especially if you present them with handmade art in drawing, handycrafts, embroidery and the like that is both unique and personal.

Given the constant h@te and trolling any active skater receives on their social media, not only in public messages, but even more likely in DM's, you can perhaps understand why they don't feel the desire to be very active on their public accounts. Their private accounts are only shared by people they know, value and trust.

they are all over instagram. Fluture was nice enough to link 3 of Alina's for you.

i guess i don't understand what the big stink is over a competition as insignificant and not even a "real" one like JO. this is a little absurd.

We all know that it's not just about the posts after Japan Open. Interesting how you decided to reply to just this out of all other posts calling you out.

e.
Take it easy.. it wasnt me to compare Alina with anyone, but someone else started the comparison thing.
With my posts, I just wanted to show my appreciation towards Sasha, who is indeed an amazing skater, fearless, talented, she always has such a bright, sincere smile, and knows to be competitive without forgetting sportmanship.:agree::love:
P.S Sorry i didnt respond to your PM, dont take personally, but I dont really follow PMs, i just post here from time to time, really rarely in the last months.

Edit. Yes, I defended Alina in her first senior year, because at the beginning she received really low scores compared to Evgenia, although in my eyes, she was the better skater. So i felt she deserves more, a chance to a fair judging. The same as i feel now for Sasha.
I am against inflated scores based on reputation.

Why Madison why? You've been negative on Alina lately in a puzzling way. you were a big fan of hers a year-and-a-half ago and then something changed. I can't put my finger on it and it's okay that you've gone in the other way but it's perplexing to see some of your post with a negative angle about Alina. After the Olympics fluture who posts here a lot was about an equal Zagitova and Medvedeva fan then she went more towards Evgenia partly because of Eteri as I see it but fluture has never as I recalled been negative about Alina. Again no one minds that you prefer Sasha or Alena or other skaters to Alina at this point but there's no reason to be negative about Alina. She has thanked her coaches ad nauseam through the three years I've been following her. Alina gives credit to others never talks about herself in a boasting way and there's a lot to boast about.

many good points especially about criticizing the judges which we all do and it's virtually impossible sport to judge fairly. But it's hard to be negative about the skaters personally or suggest innuendo about them because none of them ever really misbehave as far as I know other than what Nastya G has said recently and she was frustrated and p#ssed off about things and spoke her mind as a teenager sometimes do. But other than that I can't remember when a figure skater was negative publicly.

Not taking it personally at all just stating the obvious. And sure. It‘s just that I‘ve read this forum for some time now even before I registered. I know your posts. It‘s the same game it was before with Alina and Evgenia. And it will be the same with Sasha and whoever comes up from the junior ranks to compete with her. So, nope, forgive me but not taking it easy here. This thread is full of bickering, attacking and passive aggressiveness already. Next.

According to some Twitter, Maya Khromikh and Dar'ya Usachyova are scheduled to compete in Denis Ten Memorial. Now we only need a live stream to see how they do in Almaty, but almost all information concerning this event is very patchy.

Now, that‘s interesting because I distinctly remember seeing a billboard with Kamila on it, so I assumed she‘d be competing. But then again, there was a billboard with Zhenya and Sasha too and none of them is going. I think it‘s good for Maiia and Daria, though. Maiia missed the JGPF so she could use some more international experience and Daria will want to practice her programs under pressure a bit more before the final. I hope we get some streams because this should be an interesting competition with Sima, Sotskova and Guliakova there as well.

they are all over instagram. Fluture was nice enough to link 3 of Alina's for you.

Not nice enough. Fed up enough.

But you have to know - cause I see that you are very much interested in my opinions, and that you are Evgenia's fan- that I really like Evgenia's interesting personality, her fighting spirit, her smart mind, and her friendly nature. Perfect to be an ambassador.
And there is not a game, just opinions :).

Lol just because we are Zhenya's fans it doesn't make us oblivious to rude things being said about a rival of hers. And you have to know that that kind of thing was largely happening to Zhenya and still is, so if we don't like that thing happening to her, why do it to another skater?
(but then again this is a rhetorical question)

It will be Aliona‘s senior debut this week. I heard that there will be a stream but it won‘t be free. Now, is there any way for us to watch? Some other free streams maybe? I really don‘t want to miss her senior debut, it‘s been so long since we‘ve seen her in a competition. :(

And I can‘t wait to see what her dresses will look like. I loved the old one for her SP but wouldn‘t mind seeing a new one either. And of course... twilight. That one scares me a bit. I trust Olga but.. please nothing tacky. And not a reworked version of her her exhibition costume either.
