2020-2021 Programs by Discipline

It is even funnier considering that Trusova also has O Verona at the beginning of her program. Kissing You was mistakenly written by Plushenko. So they have exactly the three same songs in the same order ;)

Lord. Time to stock up on popcorn and wine! This is going to be fun and if they skate back to back

Charlène Guignard and Marco Fabbri announced, during an interview yesterday (https://www.facebook.com/watch/live/?v=739004656658853&ref=watch_permalink)
that they will be keeping their Grease rhythm dance next season. For the free dance, they will be skating to the soundtrack of the film Atonement.
The soundtrack is gorgeous, so I cannot wait to see their program!

I'm really looking forward to seeing this, too. I've often felt their material hasn't fully showcased their strengths as a team in the past but Atonement is a great choice.

Andrew Torgashev will skate two new programs this season:

SP: a flamenco that he found on Dancing with the Stars, but in a podcast interview could not remember the actual name.

LP: “Dream”, “Battle Cry” and “Radioactive” by Imagine Dragons

Don't know Imagine Dragons, but I'll love it if it's Andrew:)

The last program I remember in Ice Dance to Atonement was Sara Hurtado & Adria Diaz in the 2014/15 season, their last complete one. Have there been any others since then?
I really like the music and look forward to Charlene and Marco´s interpretation.

Mariah Bell announced her new programs in this interview with Olympic Channel: https://www.olympicchannel.com/en/s...ter-mariah-bell-i-want-to-push-my-boundaries/

“Glitter in the Air” by Pink for the Short choreographed by Adam Rippon, and an ABBA medley (including Dancing Queen and The Winner Takes It All) for the Free choreographed by Shae-Lynn Bourne.

I cannot wait to see this LP. It sounds young and fun, and ironically hip - so long as it doesn't slip into camp. I'm indifferent about the SP music.

OMG :love::luv17:

Pink is my one of my favourite singers ever! :yahoo: And the ABBA medley sounds so fun!

Definitely my favourite music choices so far.

I think that the ABBA medley would go down really well at U.S. nationals (if there are fans allowed in at the time).

This might be my favourite set of programmes announced ever! Both perfect Mariah choices that I think she'll do justice to!!

ABBA/Mamma Mia is actually going through a massive revival within the Millenial/Gen Z age bracket, partly because of the movies and partly because they are iconic, timeless classics, and I really, really see this sort of programme suiting Mariah. It is giving me vibes of Fear/Gibson's Disco medley which was an instant hit and I can see this going the same way. My favourite programme announcment by far.

I admit I'm a little queasy about Mariah's LP, which has nothing to do with ABBA, being someone who was actually contemporaneous with ABBA:)

But "The Winner Takes It All"? I'm superstitious and that does not sit well with my pagan soul. IIRC, Mirai used The Winner Takes It All, although maybe a cover? Do you really want to risk not having a good skate to those lyrics?:drama:

But maybe most of it will be Dancing Queen:yes:

Given that The Winner Takes It All is written/sung from the loser's point of view...

And think how it would go down in Sweden at the Worlds (if they are held). She was supposed to skate to Leonard Cohen's Hallelujah sung by k.d. lang at Worlds in Canada. I sense a theme... :)

It's the opposite with me, I am curious about her SP as I have not yet heard of the song or its singer yet. But ABBA programs disappoint me every single time... or have so far. It's always the same picks over and over again - The Winner and Dancing Queen which IMO just do not have the glide that makes music easy to skate to. But skaters always choose these two, and maybe a few other megahits like Money Money. I'm tired of it already. I love ABBA and I wish skaters would be more original with their music. There are so many other lovely songs by ABBA, like Andante Andante and Intermezzo which I think are much better suited for skating. Maybe someone will pick them one day. Or maybe Mariah will give me a pleasant surprise and include something more outside the box beyond those two songs, preferably by the original artists.

ETA, I've only noticed Matteo's choices now, and they're very good. Looking forward to seeing what he can do with them.

The soundtrack is gorgeous, so I cannot wait to see their program!

Isn't it the soundtrack that Sara Hurtado and Kirill Khaliavin skated to a few seasons ago? That was a great program. Good pick for Charlene and Marco.

Yes, I believe Sara and Kirill used the music in 2014-15 season, their last full season together. It was a lovely program for them; Atonement has such gorgeous music.
