2020-21 Russian Men's figure skating

It seems he has. On Wednesday (8am Moscow time) he is supposed to skate, broadcast will be, commentary by Grishin. I watched the first broadcast of this club a few weeks ago. It was decent, Grishin likes to talk

Thanks for the link! :hap57: More skating, yay!
By the way, is the Aug 26 event something different to the Sept 1-4 competition?

The kids just skate on Wednesday, show their programs. Nothing special. This is their 2nd broadcast. The 1st was just babies but I was bored so I watched. Lol. Next week is a competition. Still waiting for that link.

Awesome. Will be so happy to see some of the last year’s favs & support them with viewership.

Coach: Erokhov restored quadruple salchow and toeloop

"Erokhov is gaining form, all the elements have been restored, in particular the quadruple toeloop and the salchow. There are no other quadruples yet, because he did not skate for a long time and he needs time to get stronger. We roll out the programs and prepare for the stages of the Russian Cup," Butsaeva said by phone.

Aw :( Hopefully we get to see Ilya next week then.
I tuned in out of curiosity without knowing the schedule, saw a toddler skate to Pirates of the Caribbean and got confused... time to sleep

Lol, yeah the bigger kids (juniors) start in 1.5 hrs. This is one hell of a long demonstration. Ten hours

I set the recorder for the bigger kids and it's 1am so I'm going to sleep too

They said the rink was too small for Yablokov. This is Plushenko 's old rink before he upgraded to a normal size rink.

Lol, fussy Yablokov  Understandable though, I remember once at worlds Midori Ito jumped off the ice, fell through a gap in the boards and crashed into a TV camera... I bet he doesn't like North American rinks then (although they are not quite as small as this). Makes sense why people didn't take the academy seriously when it first started.

Well Yablokov is a big boy now. He is almost cm to cm as tall as Samoilov and the ISU has Samoilov as 179cm. That's quite a growth spurt since last season and the season before that. That picture were he towers over Murashov had me :laugh2:

Here's some videos from today's demonstrations. Belyavsky and Golubev landed 3a and 4s. Good for them!

I'll just leave Vinokur here too! Wouldn't know where else to put it anyway.

OMG giant Yablokov  I still remember him as a little bean skating to some rock n' roll song two years ago. Hope he can still jump alright!

Interestingly another skater from Butsaeva's group was there (Kirill Andrusik). Kirill's jumps remind me of Miyahara, so maybe the rink dimensions weren't a problem for him.

Golubev has progressed quite a bit compared to Jr Nationals in February, where he was stuck in the first warm-up group. I'm surprised he got a solid-looking 4S after the quarantine! Still kind of slow across the ice, but he rotates really fast in the air. Interesting footwork too. His music choices bring back nostalgic memories of my early teens

Lev Vinokur singing along to O Figaro during his step sequence was very cute. He and Belyavsky have a similar way of skating to me (IDK how to describe, neat? Fairly musical?), maybe it's Davydov's influence? In comparison, Butsaeva's students seem to be more powerful but also kind of messy (though her boys/men seem to be older in average than Davydov's). I also find their programmes amusing (probably not the choreographer's intention )

A short report from St.Petersburg on men skating there

https://www.sports.ru/profile/5975530/status/2166559/

Mozalev has rock music for SP, did 4Lz(q) but fell. 4T, 3A is still there

Ignatov skated to something with lyrics, had 4Lo, 4T, 3A, same slow spins, lack of stamina in SP as noted last year

Aliev was sick

Here's some pictures of the guys from Moskvina's school: Gumennik, Kutovoi, Zuber, Ugozhaev
