I got my information from this interview, where both salary from the state as well as income from shows/competitions are mentioned. And there must be some truth to it, considering that we have at least two precedents of clubs/coaches trying to prevent skaters from switching (Mishin with Lozko, which basically ruined her career and Sambo with Lipnitskaya). I don't know how the situation works for Medvedeva but her case is also rather special in that she trains with a foreign specialist and only has Sambo as the "official" club for internal competitions.
And yes, media are making a big deal out of it but it's not like RusFed officials kept mentioning "how they didn't have the paperwork" and how "no one allowed a switch" every few weeks when Frolova was changing coaches either. There is a more discreet way to handle it than what they've shown the last months.
Frankly, I don't care about either of Plushenko or Eteri, the only reason I'm even bothering with this situation is that it can potentially harm Aliona. All this negative attention in the press, Lakernik talking about possible "sanctions"... it's not good and simply unnecessary. And yes, I do believe that at least her parents would try to prevent this sort of thing happening by simply submitting the paperwork. It's not that hard - even if she still has some other option in mind, which we don't know, she could literally just go through the process again.
Head of Sambo made a big deal out of it already when Sasha left, writing on instagram how they'd have to "expel her from the school" if she was indeed changing coaches. Everyone can decide on their own whether Aliona and her parents would intentionally subject themselves to months of drama in the press by not submitting necessary paperwork or whether maybe a club and a federation that have both shown precedent in trying to prevent students from leaving their coaching environments, might have anything to do with the issues. And please note that I'm more focused on Sambo 70 and RusFed as organisations in this case, rather than Eteri as a individual.
Again, as long as Aliona's fine, I will be too, no matter whether "Sambo 70" or "Angels of Plushenko" or literally any other club is written under her name when she takes the ice.
Isn't there literally an entire ranking thread which sole purpose is to predict how skaters are going to skate in the new season?
