Good to hear that Karel is back on track! I saw her medal in Pre-Novice at Junior Nationals - wow what a fireball! But haven't seen her since, as she withdrew from many competitions last season...

I had seen Kristine at last year's US Nats (novice) where Angela won over her. Still I was quite impressed, so I am not surprised. How will these two Americans hold up for the LP?Ladies SP results are in.

1. Kristine Musademba, 54.35
2. Rachael Flatt, 49.63
3.Jenni Vahamaa (Finland), 47.94
Does Kristine do the 3lutz & Flip?
I wonder why Rachael scored that low...
Just FYI, it's Brandon Mroz (not Brian).Mroz is in 4th ...
Brian tends to get very mad when he messes up in the SP and he comes on like gangbusters in the FS. He has a track record like that:
Jr Worlds: 7th in the SP, 2nd in the FS; moved up to 4th
2006 JGPF: 5th in the SP, 2nd in the FS; moved up to 2nd
2006 JGP Mexico: 11th in the SP, 1st in the FS, moved up to 2nd
Musademba skated a clean Junior SP (landed 3Lo, 3F-2T, 2A) at the Liberty Summer Competition in PA back in July (which I missed seeing) and scored 53.07 there. I'm not surprised at how well she skated today in her JGP debut. Musademba's scored 91+ in her initial round Jr. FS at Liberty, and her 6-triple jump layout there was: 3F-2T, 3T-2T, 3S-2T, 3T, 3Lo, 3S, 2A. In the Liberty Junior Ladies FS Final, she finished 2nd with 80.39 (Alexe Gilles won with a 90.66 FS score).Wow, Kristine beat Rachael by quite a bit. Is that a surprise to people? Rachael had a very similar score (49.96) at the Liberty Open SP, where she under-rotated the 3/3 and was apparently short on rotations for the layback spin . Maybe something similar happened to her at JGP Vienna. But she came back strong at Liberty, scoring 107.19 in the LP (with a nice 3/3), so maybe she'll do the same again here.
Musademba landed 3F-2T in her SP today. The 3F is a new jump in her programs this year.Does Kristine do the 3lutz & Flip?
Well I think Musademba is "one of the most talented young skaters out there" even without a lutz in competition right now.She does the flip, but apparently is still working on the lutz in practice, which after seeing her today is the only reason I'm not calling her one of the most talented young skaters out there. She's very lovely to watch.
