Well she WILL be the first...I really hope Tuktamysheva lands a 4Lz in competition soon, so we can all say she was the first.

I don't doubt what you're saying.None of those who describe Sasha's achievements as "no big deal" today would take even half a step back if Sasha were still skating under Tutberidze.![]()
I am very sorry. Believing, imagine and conjunctive are your business, not mine. I prefer to stick to facts.I ask you to use your imagination, invert the scenario, that instead of Shcherbakova it would have been Trusova who gave herself a 6-month stop for any injury, do you think that Trusova with her leg immobilized for half a year would be jumping quads today, Anna recovered slowly and He was able to continue in competition for having a level PCS, with Trusova everything would have been different.
It always makes me smile to read the eterihaters praising Trusova when last year when she was with Eteri she was considered nothing more than a robot
The Russian Cup advert has me thinking: it's going to be hard for Sasha to beat Kamila if they inflate Kamila's scores the way they did Anya's.
Anna's lutzes and flips are so ugly looking, why she repeats them so much? :/

Well, I am actually glad that I did checked her videos today. Now I understand much more why I dislike her jump technique so much - because she always jumps mainly flips and lutzes and sometimes one double axel or two double axels. The toe loop, the salchow and the loop she uses only as a second or third jump in combinations or sequences.Anna and her jumps really live in your head rent free, huh?
One question: If you dislike her/her jumps/prerotation/whatever so much, why do you keep watching? Everyone has skaters they don‘t enjoy but I see no one else going around repeating the same kind of arguments ad nauseam every single day. It genuinely baffles me - the amount of time you willingly spend on someone that you dislike so much.![]()
Google translate mangled her words a great deal, but it was still an honest and interesting interview. One thing that is so true-is how your birthday lines up, and the Olympics sort of being a case of luck-hitting it at the right age at the right time. And honest about weight gain, puberty and just being done. Hope she has a wonderful coaching career. It goes both ways. There‘s people who love Sasha now that she‘s with a coach that isn‘t Eteri and there‘s people who dislike her for it and constantly make snide remarks. So what, that‘s life - but those people aren‘t fans of Sasha anyway and never were - they‘re fans/haters of a specific coaching team. They have absolutely nothing to do with her as a person
As for Sasha hypothetically taking time to cure a potential injury... that‘s literally what coaches/parents are for. Children (and that‘s what Anna was, when she got injured) are often reckless, they feel unbreakable and overestimate their own bodies. In athletes as driven as these, it‘s even more of a prevalent issue. Which is why it‘s ever so important to have responsible adults in charge who, if necessary, put a stop to training. Seems like Anna had such a support system (and from her parents‘ interview, they did seem very reasonable), good for her! I‘d hope and believe Sasha has a similarly strong one. And whether she‘d be able to jump quads after an injury? Well, the girl showed a 4Lz (and 4T) after months of the ice and fairly quickly at that. So... pretty high chance, I‘d say.
On another note - anyone read Panenkova‘s latest interview? I‘m relying on google translate and fan translations so not betting on it being 100% accurate. Still... that poor girl. Talking about support systems and all that, seems to me like she was unlucky enough not to have one.
Which makes me think - what about Sakhanovich? She is no Tuktamysheva nor Medvedeva.Google translate mangled her words a great deal, but it was still an honest and interesting interview. Kamila hasn’t even skated yet, and already there’s some negative judgement towards her. Also takes away from the fact that she’s a wonderful skater with very good SS and exceptional spins, not even talking about great 4Ts she has. If she gets higher scores - well, it’s because she’s been lowballed due to being a junior, which is something common. The Russian Cup advert has me thinking: it's going to be hard for Sasha to beat Kamila if they inflate Kamila's scores the way they did Anya's.
I have a fear she might retire soon. She was already starting to coach recently + her coach Turenko seems to have moved to Italy. Coaching situation will be difficult and she’s not a member of team SPb anymore from what I recall, which also means no funding.Which makes me think - what about Sakhanovich? She is no Tuktamysheva nor Medvedeva.
Because they give the most points?Ok. So now I watched Shcherbakova's Russian nationals 2019 FS. 3 lutzes (one quad lutz and two triple lutzes) and 2 flips, 2 double axels and again only one triple loop, only one triple salchow, only one triple toe loop and one euler. I mean - Anna's lutzes and flips are so ugly looking, why she repeats them so much? :/
Well, at least she tried for many years. Which is good. One should give up, only If she/he tried very hard to achieve something for many years and not before that.I have a fear she might retire soon. Exactly. And she can jump 4F and 4Lz. And also - she can jump the 4 Lutzes, 3 Lutzes and 3 Flips in combinations and sequences. But at the same maybe If she could jump 4T and 4S instead of 4F and 4Lz, it would have been better for her. Then she would not highlight her weaknesses as much.Because they give the most points?
Why did you think?
I don't think so. If only Sasha can stand up on all her jumps she might beat her. Kamila will probably beat her PCS wise, but that will not be enough if Sasha goes out guns blazin'.The Russian Cup advert has me thinking: it's going to be hard for Sasha to beat Kamila if they inflate Kamila's scores the way they did Anya's.
