I can, I still want them to win or do really well, but then I feel like a jerk if I'm hoping their competitors mess up so they can. :( They are after all just kids trying their hardest.
Or you can just hope that they win. There will always be one skater who has so much more tech planned than everyone else, and they're the one who has to mess up for anyone else to have a chance. I don't know what Sasha has planned for the free, but if it's 3 quads and 2 3As, then for anyone else to have a shot they would need her to mess up. Last season, when she had 5 quads planned, others could only win if she didn't go clean. So technically, everyone rooting for another skater was indirectly waiting for her to make mistakes. That's just the name of the game.

The young representatives of the Army of Skaters have taken to the ice again.

This being a commercial club shows the popularity of figure skating. All the young kids are nicely presented in pretty dresses and costumes, the pride of their parents.

But still no video about how Tarakanova did, or what scores she got yesterday.

Perhaps we will see her today?

Some strange sponsors though, a heavy machinery factory, railway construction company, enterprises unrelated to figure skating for kids.

I'm late in the party...: biggrin: This is my opinion.

For me Kamila was the first, too but the gap was too big. Ridiculously big. Kamila is not Yuna Kim yet. But she received such points.
Usacheva is awesome but her scores was too high. And the judges ignored her mistake.
Sasha did mistakes. But she landed in 3A and if that is not perfect this is a great step. :love2:
Konstantinova was very enjoyable and the other girls , too. Stasya was underscored or Kamila was overscored. 16 points between them???
I liked this competition very much.:hap10:

I have an opinion and you won't like it. Kamila can't be the next OG champion. Maybe she will be the next Gubanova or Panenkova.......

She can't? What an incredibly obtuse thing to say. As well as what a mean-spirited thing to say about a child. No one knows yet what the future will hold and who will win the OG. Kamila (and others) certainly have the potential; however, it's still years away. However, one thing I can say is that your opinion and who you think can or can not (really you mean shouldn't not can't though) will have no bearing on what actually happens.

Here;

It's the whole feed. The men comes first and if you want to see the ladies, the drama starts at around 2:31:00 (it starts with a rope contest ;)). The top group is at around 3:35:00.

Beware. The feed is shaky, and we all feared it would break...but it didn't.

thanks again! I have insomnia, so I'm glad to have these programs to watch in the wee hours.

Wow that's harsh.

Sasha hasn't lived up to the hype?
That's debatable. Anna and aliona were slightly better last season that's why Sasha had a couple third place finishes. But Sasha was only fifteen last season let's see what she does at 16 17 and 18.

No question the publicity and Hyper Sasha has been very big and it's something she's had to get used to on the fly.
Well the hype was pretty ridiculous. I remember when back after 2018 junior worlds when she landed 2 quads that this was some accomplishment that was never going to be equaled, then she was supposed to be jumping 5 quads per program, learn 4Axel, outjump the boys etc. so I think she indeed has not lived up to the hype. That's of course not exactly a fault of her but moreso the fault of there being way too much hype for her at the time. She must have suffered mentally from the need to meet these expectations, which probably lead to her poor last season.

Hm? She'll be 15. And then you compare her to Gubanova and Panenkova, both of whom had completely different body types. It's a pretty terrible opinion no matter how you look at it.
if that happens, that will be terrible..yes. :frown: I adored Gubanova, I liked her more than Liza Nugumanova but I liked both of them. And look at what happened. I want to correct my words I like them even today :love2: but they were much more promising then.

I keep my opinion. I don’t know who will be the champion, of course, but I believe she will be hit very hard by puberty. Unfortunately.
What if she goes to Plushy?

I predict then that you will predict that she will win the next 2 Olympic Games.

That's my opinion of your opinion.

Why in particular do you think she will be "hit hard by puberty"?
And please no generic "cuz Eteri technique stinks" type answers.
Besides she will only be 16 in 2022 so she may not even be affected at that point.
I'm really curious why you selected her.

Gee, is puberty that delayed by figure skating? I went through it at 12! I guess all the training does it.

I wonder would it be better to go through puberty at the beginning of your skating career? Then you wouldn't have to worry so much about it cropping up later on!

I have to disagree greatly with the assessment that Sasha hasn't "lived up to the hype".
If she had debuted in any other season, she probably would have won every thing in sight.
She was only beaten by her 2 teammates. And if the season had not been derailed by a pandemic, she possibly could have won Worlds.
Plus she medaled in those 3 events where her teammates bested her.

That's an extremely successful debut season. Better than some other well known junior phenoms (not neccessarily from Russia).

Maybe she didn't live up to her own expectations last year, but that is completely different.

I don't want to say anything. We will see.
But don't get me wrong, probably I liked Kamila when you didn't know she is exist.

Well, you probably did. I don't follow the juniors all that much.

But once again, my opinion is that you are "lashing" out at a skater based on who her coach is.
Because of this well known "feud" that is going on now with Plushy and Eteri.
And I don't like that type of thing.
