Just wondering if you happen to know whether or not Tarakanova competed or not. If she did, hopefully, she is in 4th place in the standings 🤗
No she did not. They probably only planned that event in case she would not have qualified for RN.

Jr. Worlds already cancelled
That's not a good sign for senior worlds and Senior Europeans.

It's time to talk to the waste of time at the ISU and talk about doing competitions virtually and Talent judges watching live and In Living Color. Yeah I know most people will say they will hate that they don't want that but it's better than nothing and it's better than not having world's two years in a row which is where we're heading unless they build a bubble around the arena in Stockholm.

Does anyone here know of known names among current or recent seniors or juniors who started off with or at least spent some time with Alexandr Samokhvalov en route to the big schools? Whom is he currently coaching besides Polina? t.i.a.

Besides my earlier enquiry (any info on this, anyone in the know?), I have a similar question about Urmanov: are there any big names in other schools who have been through his hands at least some of the time on their way up? Tx

I'm still wondering about Osokina - at test skates she was with Buyanova, but Buyanova hasn't been at either cup events with her.

Just in case people might get confused with the multiple London-based ballet companies, Natalia Osipova dances with the Royal Ballet. Ramil Mekhdiev is from the Igor Moiseev Ballet, which is actually a folk dance group (they're pretty cool, look them up on Youtube!). Ramil still performs but is diversifying into choreography for skaters (he's been seen at competitions with Sokolovskaya singles skaters and Zhovnirsky pairs teams - handsome man, can't miss him )
I was very fortunate to have seen the Moiseev Dancers appear in the U.S. twice, one in Los Angeles and once in Washington, D.C. The night I saw them in Washington, D.C., they had to hold up the performance while they played President Nixon's resignation speech over the public address system at the Kennedy Center. I loved their dances especially where they glide across the stage in long coats (so you can't see their feet) as if they are skating.

So I did look them up on YouTube. Sadly, I do not speak nor read Russian but I assume this link is to sort of a memorial for Igor Moiseev followed by the presentation of several of the group dances if anyone should be interested : https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=mLoJ04F2ad0. It is over an hour long but well worth watching if one has the time.

Final standings:
1st Daria Usacheva (218+)
2nd Ksenia Tsibinova (200+)
3rd Maiia Khromykh (193+)
Maiia tried rippon 4T! although quite unsuccessfully, it's interesting to see she has learned 2 types of quads now.
Ma gurl can do anything!
Happy for her, and hoping she'll have a clean program with her quads one day.
Aside from that, this wasn't that bad at all (although it's hard to tell judging from the scores): one more fall on 3F, and a minor mistake on 3Lz-eu-3Sal landing. All other jumps looked pretty good, and she didn't fall on hydroblade, so I call this a progress

I really liked Maiia's moves, incl. her hands, she is elegant and her moves look soft and light. She just somehow loses concentration with jumps from time to time during the program. I'm starting to think its not the problem of technique and she could use some training in focusing or something like that.

Yeah, I thought so too. Her FS improved a lot in presentation compared to the beginning of the season.
