Wasn't that beautiful to see? Happiness wins the day....That was just absolutely hilarious and gutsy and full of happiness. I am so, so proud of Shoma. Nailing the quads and solving his problems on the fly calmly. It's truly incredible just how much he has grown physically and mentally.
Congratulations on your silver and 7th straight podium finish at Nationals Shoma!!

In my post above (#16986), he says "I am happy!" If he is happy, I am happy.Awwwww Shoma is so cute today. He seems very happy
I am such a big fan of him.
I'm not happy with the scores though its too low
He can do so much better... TBH I expected more from his training with Lambiel (but they are so cute together).
I miss the intensity in his eyes, He used to have that intense stare during the start of his programs.
Even his English is getting better!

Ooh, that's right! Will we get to see the new Kenji EX ?! I HOPE SO!I couldn't be happier!! Shoma just radiated joy the entire time and the way he yolo'd that 4T1T was just amazingI'm so proud of him and grateful to have been able to witness his growth!! And we still have MOI coming up!

Sometimes I wonder if Shoma could benefit from working with a sports psychologist. I feel like Shoma knows what to do as shown during his practices, but sometimes he lets nerves or negative thoughts creep in during the actual competition. I follow a lot of different sports and so many top athletes use sports psychologists to help them get in the right mindset to perform at their best when it counts. Assuming Shoma has never tried it in the past, it could be worth a go.
I thought about your suggestion as well on the sports psychologist front, @Iceroller . I do think Shoma can benefit from being more laser-focused on the win and peak properly during competitions, but like @Matthew said, Shoma's a bit unique and part of his uniqueness in my opinion is that sometimes there are other things he value more than the win in competitions. That's a good idea, Iceroller. But I don't know, I think psychologists have generalized procedures which they try to teach and transfer to their clients. Since there is such unique art involved in Shoma Uno's skating style, I don't know if he could really profit by it or, to the contrary, loose some of his uniqueness. But it could be worth a trial, why not.
