What I'm really interested in: Do you really believe this tearful and emotional greasy comedy in three acts? First a sudden pneumonia (without Covid of course) during the final training at the CoR. Then skating on the verge of collapse in the SP with the channel 1 microphone turned up to 200% for excessive breathing noises and openly presented smelling bottles. At the end than the triumphant victory through a divine transformation from the weakened sick person to the radiant champion who is suddenly able to do things that he was not able to do before in a cheerful state? And all the tears from Eteri, Daniil and then Yagudin too! A Christmas fairy tale. Indeed. It is a shame that in the end it was not possible to implement the script one hundred percent (in the film material of Channel 1 there was more Dasha to be seen than Sasha), because the traitor skated better than expected and even the bought judges had no way to push Sasha under Dasha. Well, maybe next time.
Well I certainly don't think Anna S was putting it on, I mean I really can't imagine it. I think it was very good luck for her and I'm relieved. At the end than the triumphant victory through a divine transformation from the weakened sick person to the radiant champion who is suddenly able to do things that he was not able to do before in a cheerful state?
Your envy is so great that you can't even order your ideas... Yagudin tears were in KAMILA'S SKATING, NOT IN THE OF ANNA...What I'm really interested in: Do you really believe this tearful and emotional greasy comedy in three acts? I think the argument is people won't take short cuts. Notice all those learning quads with rippon?I still am not seeing the logical basis for the argument that learning quads later is better for retaining them. That goes against all logic and experiences from other sports.
The woman we saw yesterday was not the real Liza, like we did not see the real Aliona this season.now that the competition is over, who does RusFed send to worlds?
IMO, it should be Anna, Sasha, and either Liza or Aliona. Nugumanova skated well here, but AlIona/Liza would likely yield better results at Worlds.
If I were RusFed and I was being fair, at this point the third spot would go to Liza (unless they have another Russian Cup in which Aliona skated and beat Liza).
Although it wasn’t her best performance today, I think Liza showing up and competing shows she can regain the momentum from rostelecom by March
So is Anna pre-puberty or something? I would have to disagree pretty heavily. She has looked post-puberty for like a year. It’s not about age necessarily, it’s about technique. An 11yo should not jump quads if they have poor technique that will not bode well for when the grow/go through puberty. Outside of Tumtamysheva, we don’t know what The effects of having quads will be on the girls as they go through puberty.
You are talking about Akatieva, I assume? First of all, she doesn't jump like that, she actually has very impressive control for a quad. Trusova for example has to muscle it far more, Akatieva's is effortless. And second, that is an interesting narrative with regards to Rippon, but I would instead say that she does it because she is able to, and it gets her more points. Not because it is a crutch that enables the jump.I think the argument is people won't take short cuts. Notice all those learning quads with rippon?
That's because their core is weak and they have to rely on throwing their upper body into it. This will set them horribly off axis if they don't use the rippon variation to control them.
Why is it unfair? It would be unfair if they send Aliona without earning her spot. Liza always has a chance. She won Rostelecom Cup, don't forget that. But she tends to mess up when it really counts. My guess is they do want Sasha on the team, but will pit Liza Tuk against Aliona, which in my opinion is just mean because even without her 3A Aliona will beat Liza easily. Like in 2019, it's not enough for them to not want Liza on the Worlds Team, she has to go through a pointless contest she can't win unless her opponent doesn't show up.
Well maybe...but I can't help thinking that the odds are absolutely against Liza. She barely won Rostelecom even with the 3 3As, so I don't imagine Liza's chances are all that good. Especially after coming 7th at Nats, unlike others I imagine her PCS and GOEs will be absolutely slashed. Why is it unfair? It would be unfair if they send Aliona without earning her spot. On a side note (this topic has been discussed for years): It is cool that she has a consistent 3A and is practising quads. But without consistent 3-3's in either the short or the long she won't go anywhere. This is simple maths.

Wow the saltiness, the only disgusting thing in this sport are „fans“ like that
In the meantime, Phil Hersh says it was the greatest competition he saw in 40 years, where each next performance upped the previous one:
Johnny Weir too:
Well, I always had a place for Anna in my heart, but here I cannot believe in happiness. The circumstances are just too obvious. I also believe that it is easier to overcome your conscience than to compromise your dream, which you have worked hard for since childhood. Of course, one prefers to imagine that one has overcome a lung infection, not one's conscience, through willpower.Well I certainly don't think Anna S was putting it on, I mean I really can't imagine it. I think it was very good luck for her and I'm relieved.
You are obviously wrong. Without exception, Sasha took part in all competitions that were intended for selection and achieved the highest number of points. And she started with an injury at the Nationals because the tournament was considered a selection for the worlds. And what does the FFKR do? Following the competition, she decides that all but the gold medalists must go to competitive for the selection. While Eteris "lung patients" can now calmly prepare for the worlds, Sasha can prepare for the selection competitions with her injury instead of allowing her to heal. That's what I call a first class ass kick. The FFKR might like to have Sasha on the team as a backup for Anna after she crawled back to TT (apparently no stone is left behind to signal to her that this is her only chance), but under Plushenko Sasha is nothing but a potential one Threat to the star coach sponsored by the FFKR. Unfortunately, everyone was right to say that everyone who leaves Eteri is biting the dust. But in Sasha's case, she doesn't do this because of falling performance, but because of political decisions and corruption. It is disgusting. My guess is they do want Sasha on the team
Do you think Trusova was judged unfairly or something? To me her scoring was very generous, from TES to PCS. She didn't even receive URs on either quad. Bought judges? Simply ridiculous. What I'm really interested in: Do you really believe this tearful and emotional greasy comedy in three acts? Couldn’t be more true, could it.The two symbolize the opposite of what "certain people" practice here in the forum. Bravo!

By the way, Anna was out of breath after her FS.
