woah. i'm not so sure about this. if she were in shape it would be another story, but learning a new program plus still getting into shape when only 2 months of the season are left...Alena Kostornaia says in her new instagram post that she has a completely new long program. Also from Shae-Lynn.
I am not surprised. After Rostelecom Cup the Russian Federation wrote on their website that they are not a fan of Aliona's free skate. Would not be the first time that skaters change programs after the Federation gave negative feedback. I remember Tarakanova had to change her Imagine Dragons program to Moonlight Sonata, because officials did not like her ID program.woah. i'm not so sure about this. if she were in shape it would be another story, but learning a new program plus still getting into shape when only 2 months of the season are left...

Isn't it Rozanov the wonderer? Anyway this time Lakernik got involved everything will be fine. Plus it's an indication that worlds probably will happen. Except if they want a new program for the Ice age 2 megasport version.I hope it works out - but also, given that the last one clearly didn't, I'd have sought someone out in Russia. The virtual choreography must have hurt her last time, so I'd have at least asked Averbukh? Definitely not Rozanov.
That would be a very subtle indicator of worlds happeningPlus it's an indication that worlds probably will happen.

March 1-2.With the option of changing the date. Still no news about the exact date afaik. But Megasport, Moscow yes.
Ok, Shoma has received criticism (yay, #yougotmeIdk if there's much talk about the others, but Shoma certainly has been dragged up and down for his technique. But it makes sense to compare the top 2 ladies to the top 2 men if they're doing the same jumps. I'm not sure anyone is suggestion that the technique is poor because they're ladies. I just think it's not much of a topic in the men's field right now because the 2 skaters with the best technique almost always beat the ones without it. It's a big topic in the ladies field because there aren't any senior ladies jumping quads with good technique at the moment, so the poor technique is winning and all we have to look at. Not to mention ladies' quads are so new and ladies are more exciting in general![]()
Did Rusfed say that?I am not surprised. After Rostelecom Cup the Russian Federation wrote on their website that they are not a fan of Aliona's free skate. My guess is that Aliona will likely keep the program for next season.
This is probably going to devolve very quickly yet again lol, but I think the reason Shoma + Shcherbakova have been singled out is because they go beyond forward on take-offs. I do think Trusova used to pre-rotate more than "ok" in juniors, but not anymore (which is certainly a praise for her own efforts + Eteri last season + Plushy this season). Apart from Uno, I actually think Gogolev was the worst - but he's never been a big thing on the circuits. Aliev is the only other particular bad technician that comes to mind. Every other man is "ok" to good to textbook.Ok, Shoma has received criticism, but majority aren’t really mentioned at all, and they’re not that much better. It’s just the criticism seems to be very selective and targeted, and often specifically singles out ladies in an attempt to show how their quads are „cheated“. Not any more or less than those of majority of male skaters.
To me the differences don’t seem to be that big in between all of the mentioned skaters, not in terms of pre-rotation at least. There are other things, like that toe hammer take off for Shoma, Anna, which makes things more noticeable and overall less pleasing, but that’s another issue. The difference between degrees is negligible, imo. This is probably going to devolve very quickly yet again lol, but I think the reason Shoma + Shcherbakova have been singled out is because they go beyond forward on take-offs. I will give you that some of the criticism (from a certain notorious YouTuber and their followers) did seem to come from the fact that they were Russian, and were from the leading Russian Lady camp.

I do agree that it's too much scrutiny for my taste, and it usually devolves into bashing. To me the differences don’t seem to be that big in between all of the mentioned skaters, not in terms of pre-rotation at least. Actually, most people just want winners to win fair and square.I guess people want the big winners to have textbook or at least very good technique and to look beautifully, exquisite.

There where definitely a lot of recycled material from the Imagine dragons FS in Tarakanovas Monlight Sonata program but there where several sctions they had to change to fit the new music. If I remember correctly for Tarakanova it was really just a music swap, not a totally new program.
