In all honesty, none of the girls should be disappointed. At one time, they were Kamila. They were the girls better than the girls on the senior level. Next year it could be someone else.

I think it's less being beaten and more not skating to your potential. You can only control what you do anyway. In all honesty, none of the girls should be disappointed. At one time, they were Kamila. They were the girls better than the girls on the senior level. Next year it could be someone else.
Agreed. They can be shown in slow-mos afterwards if necessary.Disagree, do away with the whole corner camera.

Hm, you think? She still has a little girl's build, and she's not exactly been super steady with her jumps. I think it's perfectly possible she'll end up struggling with puberty at least to an extent.Kamila...wow. I think I said once if she gained another Ultra element it would be game over. She just needs to stay healthy. That's all I want for her. I'm not even remotely worried about her losing jumps.

I do think that she'll struggle with her jumps at some point in her career, but I believe she and her coaches will do everything in their power to delay that to at least past next season. And I wouldn't say Kamila has a little girl's build, she has actually gotten so much bigger in the past year. She should be fine for next season unless she shoots up several inches during the off season, which I doubt will happen.Hm, you think? The fact is that she is still in her recovery period. If she came from anywhere aside from Russia, Anna probably would not go back to train full time yet, let alone going to any competitions jumping quads here and there. She is still pale even before the competition started, so I would assume, whatever you saw on the screen was just her being not 100 % herself, which is why she couldn't manage her expression better. I m sure there were times when she was nervous and shook by her competitors' scores before, but we don't know about it because Anna always knows how to manage her expression and composure when she is healthy. From the current Russian ladies, Anna actually seems to be the one with the strongest mentality, so let just cheer her up and stop making all of these negative assumptions. It really wouldn't do her or Kamila any good because people then would start making up rumours even from the slightest thing, then the fans would start fighting with each other or even questioning her spot for worlds or next olympic. We don't want that right ?Yup, there is ofc that too, but the way she sat clapping looking stunned at the end of Kamila's sp and then even moreso when the score came out just got to me
She's had less clean skates before at even bigger competitions where she, at least on the outside, looked to be in a better state emotionally than she did here at a competition intended to just mainly be for fun. I wonder if the sp results with a younger teammate on top with a monster score put extra pressure on Anna for the free, which led her to look so upset by what i think was not such a bad skate.
Yup, I was just reading too much into it like I've said. Didn't mean to be making bad assumptions about Anna, but it sure could have seemed like it. Just gets worrying seeing her so upset bcs she is becoming one of my favorite skatersThe fact is that she is still in her recovery period. on the side note, please can't we have someone else do Darya's make up ? her make up was so horrible and unblended, it even distracted me from her progams. She is so beautiful, why the heck they even put that much make up on her face. It hides her beautiful features and skin. The colour schemes were also too matronly for her age.
Sasha is damn warrior though. Like yeah i agree, from the current crop, she would be the one who has longevity.
She hasn't really though, not as a senior. She fell on the 4F the first time she attempted it in comp and she's fallen on the 4Lz. Both of those times she was going for 3 quad skates though. A hand down on the 4F and popping the 3Lo in a two quad skate are the biggest mistakes she's made as a senior. Also, it's the first time she has been beaten as a senior in the FS. (Even with those previous mistakes she didn't lose the FS.)She's had less clean skates before at even bigger competitions where she, at least on the outside, looked to be in a better state emotionally than she did here at a competition intended to just mainly be for fun.
Ok got it, was thinking more along the lines of all skates including sp and fs and even juniors, as any international competition (even jr) would be bigger than this commercial event. Agreed! I just think she needs to beat both of them by a lot to get the third spot since it will only be one comp for her and several for the other girls. And it can't be because of a meltdown from either of them. Especially as the Fed has already said multiple comps will be taken into account and she'll just have the one. Even Aliona will have three and she's the reigning Euros/GPF champion who will have the PCS internationally something they'll know Kseniia won't.And it's not impossible that Sinitsyna show up, score around 225-230 and beat them both. A clean Sinitsyna is always exquisite and deserves all the praise she can get.
By little girl's body I mean similarly to how Zagitova was during Olympics, she's not yet developed into a woman. I also would say that Trusova hasn't, though she should easily be old enough to have already. Perhaps it just is her build...I'm definitely no expert but she looks like she's grown a significant amount and still gained a 3A in that time. I'm especially optimistic after the example set by Anna and Sasha who have kept their jumps and pushed on.
Next year it could be Sofia Samodelkina, yes. But I'm not sure if I'd say that she's quite on Valieva's level. The year after could be different, however. In all honesty, none of the girls should be disappointed. At one time, they were Kamila. They were the girls better than the girls on the senior level. Next year it could be someone else.
Oh definitely. If Aliona gets even one of her 3As back it's game over. They'll send her. They might even without her 3A as she's capable of outscoring her challengers even without it if she's anywhere close to clean and in form. It isn't close she's going. Plus she has an advantage the other contenders for the 3rd spot don't have - she gets the highest PCS in the world and she's the reigning GPF/Euros champion.I think for Worlds, if Alena comes back with just one 3A they'll definitely send her instead of Liza. But what if she's completely clean, no UR, and level 4 spins? At Rostelecom, she only lost to Liza by 3 points, and that's with URs and other issues. If she cleans those up and does a normal triple and 2A layout, based on the scores this season, I think she will go above Liza at the cup final. It sucks for Liza who now always seems to miss out on Worlds at the cup final, but I think the federation would go with Alena if she was in her junior form without 3As?
Even as a junior. Following her international debut, she's only melted down once - at the JGPF. Outside of that she's only fallen on quads before she's gotten them stable. And even then she has really only had that mistake.Ok got it, was thinking more along the lines of all skates including sp and fs and even juniors, as any international competition (even jr) would be bigger than this commercial event. But I understand your point
Yeah, and I said including sp's as well... it all doesn't matter anyways bcs like I've said, I was just reading too much into it and being pessimistic and did not know that was feeling unwell, probably why she looked so paleEven as a junior. Following her international debut, she's only melted down once - at the JGPF. Outside of that she's only fallen on quads before she's gotten them stable. And even then she has really only had that mistake.
Sinitsyna with a 3A and quads would be amazing. Maybe she'll land them at the Cup final. Even though both of her programs have become stale and repetitive they are still better programs than what Kostornaya presented this season and obviously better than anything Tuktamysheva ever showed. I do think her repeated programs will be something the judges will hold against her. She should have at least changed her LP as it's not the same level as her short. Even Kostornaya has changed her brand new LP because it was not good enough.Agreed! I just think she needs to beat both of them by a lot to get the third spot since it will only be one comp for her and several for the other girls. Yermolina sees it, smiles herself, but continues: "I'm talking about... like, friendship... I can see that Alina doesn't agree with me... But we are still one team, one national team"Your positivity is refreshing. However, I am very much a realist and realistically some of these girls are going to have struggles on their way to success. Growth, injury... We really don't know who will be the best next year or in two years. But, I certainly wish them all success. They are incredible girls.Actually I think for the first time the line between the junior/senior russian ladies is blurring in terms of who is the next better/more advanced skater. The advantage of being "small" and therefore jumping easily is slowly fading because people like Sasha and Anna are just so good and have defied the odds and critics and kept their jumps.
No one skated here while on the precipice of losing her jumps. It's an incredibly exciting time (go away Covid!!!!!) because what the heck is going to happen when they all keep their jumps and command excellent PCS. It's going to happen and it's going to be insane!!!!!
