I tend to agree with you about Daria. She is very special and her style does not resemble that of Kamilla. Queen Tut should be applauded for her ability to see and develop each skater's individuality. I do believe, though, that Daria's choice of musical score is ill advised. Her talents deserve better. IMO.

Daria is a Flutzess thought. Internationally she will get dinged for it. But with quad and/or 3a she is indeed very competitive.

Especially because stamina is the last to come back and not having muscle memory hurts you too but if you're not doing runthroughs or are limited in how many you can do - you're going to be affected by that. COVID is especially hard because it impacts your lungs.

What Anna did at RusNats was impressive but set a dangerous precedent. And even her own coaches thought it would turn out like it did for Liza at RusNats and Aliona here (and different situation but Sasha at Rostelecom.) And I LOVE Anna and she's definitely a determined competitor but if she was to do that skate again in the condition she was in at RusNats there's a MUCH MUCH higher chance she couldn't capture that magic again and do it twice - she wasn't even doing run throughs at the time. (Even at Channel One Cup the effects of pneumonia were evident.) And more than risking a bad skate she was risking her own health - she could have very easily damaged her lungs and/or suffered a setback and suffered permanent damage.

Unfortunately what Anna did is making that the rule rather than the exception where it's really much more likely to turn out like Aliona here and Liza there. It's also making me happy that Aliona withdrew from RusNats (and Channel One Cup.)
Barely recovered from dangerous illness, Anna gave such sterling performance, that my jaw dropped. Not the first time. Few years back she broke her leg and endured several surgeries. Many, if not most, "predicted" that she would not come back. Yet come back she did, stronger and better than before. Good genes + will of steel, combined with this exquisite form... I am lost for words!

Just for clarification, Samsonov has won Jr Nats twice before, but was 7th at Jr Nats this year (Semenenko won).
I agree, it's much more important for him to rest and recover now. Osgood Schlatter's is growth-related and goes away with time, so hopefully he'll be back to his normal level next season.
Yeah I know. I don't think anyone expected him to win JrNats here - he's still recovering. He also didn't really need to. He'll be on the team and get spots at the GP, regardless. There is no Junior Worlds this year - which would be the only thing he hasn't gone to..

It might be highly unlikely, but I really hope they keep Kamila's short for next year as well. Her programs are my favourite this season and in general for a while, and I've liked them since test skates which rarely happens for me.

I I feel the same way about Dasha if she gets an ultra move watch out because the judges already love her she already gets the EG bounce and that's without her winning any significant events.
Alyona would be number one there.
His top ladies are beautiful and skate beautifully but they are not in Alyonas league if she is healthy. She would also be the number one at CSKA and she probably needs to go where she's number 1 if she leaves PA. She is not the number one lady at PA and never will be with Sasha there. Plushie didn't even really go after her from what we know AK just kind of fell into his lap as she was upset with a few things at TT and young Sergei was already there so that was the place for her to move to in her mind.
She hasn't won anything but her resume is as impressive as Aliona's at this stage and more impressive than Anna (who missed her entire first junior season due to injury.) Also keep in mind when comparing resumes for their junior years that you're looking at their first junior international season at 13 compared to Anna and Sasha at 14 and Aliona at 15. Also another thing to note is that the only Russian skater that Daria lost to as a junior was Kamila - and that's mostly tech difference. I also don't understand this idea of never winning. Getting second at junior world's is an incredible achievement. (Also Anna and Aliona never won junior world's and they did fine as first year seniors.) Daria gets more than an EG bounce because she's actually quite accomplished internationally and gets scored high internationally as well.

I actually think only part of anything is an EG bounce - and that's mostly because of her reputation for developing champions. The rest is because the girls themselves always win and when they lose they still stay on the podium and really only lose to each other. That in turn gives them more of a bounce - but that's a reputation bounce and happens to the top skaters of each country no matter what, particularly the one's with powerful feds.

Also, I don't think Aliona would necessarily be number 1 - . Nor do I think she would necessarily deserve it. Plenty of attention and help and guidance yes, of course. But at this stage she is being outskated by other skaters and their coaches should be loyal to them as well (no matter who enters the rink) - many of them are beautiful and talented in their own right as well - and at this point, there isn't really a tech difference - only a reputation difference. Also Aliona can be outskated by many at CSKA too - and greatly outskated if you're including the juniors. And Rukavicin does have Dimitri to consider - also a Euros champion. While I think Liza N and Anastasia G fully deserve his attention, and at this point their tech is similar, he doesn't just have the girls to consider. He has Dimitri and Makar - both of whom will be aiming for the Olympics as well - and they also deserve his full attention. So no, I don't think she would be number 1 here either. Nor should should. Aliona would fit very nicely with Rukavicin, but I don't think she would automatically be number 1, nor should she be.

No, she might not. Others don't. And if Daria gets named for the team she'll have Fed support. Also Daria didn't get dinged for it at all at junior World's - there is no sign to show that will happen now.
Depends if she can be russias nr1 or 2, as 3rd she might get dinged

Hmm some solid jumping from Tsibinova but I feel like there's could be some more in terms of performance for me. The program itself is so fun and full of personality but her skating is not really giving me enough of that.

It strikes me as perfectly absurd that the arguably best female skater in the world is being barred from going to the Worlds due to age restriction. Tara Lipinski won the individual title being mere 14. Yet the danger of letting girls entering popular competitions is obvious - if children are allowed to compete at broadly televised events like the Worlds, then these events undoubtedly will loose their viewership . Would it be justified if the rules are altered for those young skaters who have achieved higher scores than their adult counterpart? Opinions, thoughts, ideas?
