? Is it normal to keep getting taller till 18? I stopped growing height-wise at like 12
It depends on the person. I was teeny weeny as a child, but then grew a lot as a teen, and only stopped growing at 17. Other girls, who had been the tallest in the class when we were in junior school, stopped growing by twelve or so. And others were always short and stayed short, and others were always tall and remained tall. So, who knows? Maiia may very well have reached her adult height by now, but then again, she may not have.

What is this show from D? Only for humiliating her! I hope Alena can find a coach who appreciate her as person and skater. She deserves that.
It's sad that it didn't work out for her with Plush and Rozanov. I think they are great coaches, but without experience on coaching a top level skater like Alena.

Plushenko is a very decent human being. My respect for him continues. It does sound like he did what he could for Alena.
Yeah, I do think this explains more what was happening behind the scenes, and I am glad he at least tried to do his best. I think he's said some awful stuff of his own, but I'm happy that he's taking coaching more seriously this season, and I hope his Academy improves in the future.

I think its not uncommon in elite sports to keep growing later and slower than non athletes would. I would say that skaters normally stop growing (height wise at least) between 16-18yo. This obviously varies greatly from person to person for example my mom stopped growing around the age of 14 but I kept growing until I was 18 so even within a family it can greatly vary.

But I have to agree Maiia is worryingly tall. Tall skaters tend to start struggling with rotating their jumps when they become senior.

Anya didn't deserve this "show" in her training group three weeks before her first Worlds. 😔
Eteri should know better.:slink:
Not sure what she's done wrong...? Not make the decision right away? But if she wanted some time to think it through, I think a day is fair enough.

Anna has nothing to do with this whatsoever. She‘s driven and focused and will not be distracted by this. She‘s seen so much drama in this camp, so many students leaving and coming back. And the coaches wouldn‘t be stupid enough to let it interfere with the training process either - this is their chance at another World Champion in their team, too, after all. Have a little faith, come on.

Ah yes, spreading unproven rumours around.
Like yesterday was not enough

Yesterday I saw a post from a moderator on fscool forbidding users from continuing with that rumour because it’s completely unfounded and they feared it spreading to the media/English speaking forums. Well, looks like their concerns were reasonable.

Why are you still writing this when Maya herself said 165 3 days ago
Zhenya is not 165, she's barely 160. Kamila is shorter than Anna. Kami is 156-157. She said in an interview in September 154-155. I'm guessin 2cm more now. Aliona is 153-154
Aliona Kostornaia is officially (ISU) 1m55 but I had the impression she had grown a little when I saw her at the Final.

Maybe it’s not her coaches’s fault. After all she left Etheri who made her the GPF champion and European champion. Maybe she had star fewer. Anyways, it was a wrong move and she’s realizing it today.
