Well considering she left her own coaches crying after her FS at RusNats, I would say that she definitely doesn't leave most people "cold".

Sambo won't pay to take her back haha. She came to them not the other way around.

They’ll have to pay, or Sambo has to pay, someone has to pay, because they’re not releasing her otherwise. She says if Sambo wants her, they better pay up, because she would if she was planning to take someone like Aliona.

It's fairly disingenuous for Plushy to say that he doesn't have a contract with Alena. He can't - because she's 17. He should be under full understanding of the spirit of the question - which is legal contract with Alena's team at all, where her mother is her legal guardian, at least for another 5 months.
If they signed it's really too late without some really expensive lawyers.
We don't what the amount is and Team Eteri has more than enough stars to bring in fans they don't need Kostornaia's fans to buy tickets for their showsI stand corrected.

They might if they can get a return on their investment. Even if she can't compete next season (or ever again) she would be a very welcome addition to any ice show. They could make their money back and even profit in the long term.
I'm not comparing her popularity to Evgenia's but Aliona has fans that love her.

That's how I saw it too.
But it was good to get competition experience with this layout even to build into next year. It's the same as Kamila's Cup Final layout/skate and Maiia's quad attempts, etc.
Practice and a good base for next year when it really matters!!

Yeah, that was very disingenuous.
I don't really think that Laishev can spend state money like that... if it's anything like in other countries with state sponsored training, you have to justify your expenses and I don't think that you can "buy" an athlete back like that. It should be the federation to give Plushenko the compensation he asks or Alena's family, if they can afford it.I stand corrected.

Depends on how much it is. (IF it's low and they see the risk of having her at Sambo at all as benefiting them then maybe.)
However, they already have BOTH Evgenia and Alina for that. In an Olympic year of all years! When sooo much attention will be on Evgenia and Alina. And they have soooooo much more star power than Aliona has. And with Alina they don't have to worry about injuries or training for an Olympics team.
They also have a sea of juniors they can add to the ice shows as well.
And that's without touching the national team. They already have more than enough potential talent to attract fans - a lot of whom are could also be Aliona fans already.
They definitely don't need her - Alina alone is enough. Evgenia AND Alina is waay more than enough. (Both of them are waaay more popular than Aliona and that's not taking into account next year is an Olympic year so they'll bring up the 2018 drama over and over again.)

At least from what we know - which admittedly isn't the full story and it never might be - however, both sides have said there are some negotiations to complete at least. So there, at least, Daniil wasn't lying.

Reminds me of when he was denigrating the programs Daniil choreographed for her right before she left. Like they were the worst programs in the history of skating.
And Aliona couldn't possibly be expected to skate to such trash. Whether you like a program or not is a question of taste but that was unprofessional and disrespectful. As is this latest statement.I don't think they need an excuse. 'No' or in this case 'Nyet' is a complete sentence.
If you want to believe rumors (and I'm not saying anyone should) Sasha T. tried to come back to Eteri months ago and they refused. More because of conflicts with her father than anything to do with Sasha.
