Looking on the bright side though imagine how much motivation she has and how hard she will work now. I wouldn't be surprised if we see that triple axel within the month. As a side note, does that mean the injury that Rudkovskaya kept going on about wasn't even that serious?

That‘s what scared me, too. Alright, trial period, I get it. But is it dependent on her getting the 3A back? Because if so, that‘s a mission impossible. She‘s injured, recovering from COVID and completely out of shape. The end of the season is in 4 weeks.

This...is not doable.
I don’t think it’s dependent on it, probably said just for TV, she likely just wants to ensure Aliona is disciplined and has a goal. I don’t think without 3A she’s gonna kick her out.
But until season end - that is enough time for Aliona to make Eteri warm up to her. So far seems like Diana has been helping to make up more than 1 break up with Eteri, I remember she also helped Polina to make it up with Eteri.

Trial period is something. It’s better than nothing. But props to Aliona’s bravery to go and ask Eteri herself. Probably wasn’t easy to go to her after what was said and done. Especially at her age.

Yuna Kim dominated because she literally never fell off the podium. And because of her reputation as the one to beat. Yuna dominated because she was the one to beat through two Olympics. That never applied to Aliona even last year. She started the year behind Sasha. Sasha was the one to beat at first, coming out of juniors.

And skaters don't have the same elements now. And it definitely isn't usually the ones who are just the cleanest. It's the ones with the highest level of tech content who perform it cleanly.
If you’re gonna use that reasoning of having the highest tech content and performing it cleanly I hope you’re not just referring to jumps like 3A and quads. You also need the highest levels in spins and step sequence and get the highest GOEs. Because then you have Daria who doesn’t have any 3A or quad but skates cleanly with the highest levels and GOEs and PCS and she consistently beats Liza with her high tech content of three 3As. It takes more than high technical content and performing it cleanly to dominate. In the men Boyang Jin and Alexander Samarin knows that. Alyona’s PCS was always higher than the rest even when she was in juniors.

- Alyona is on trial period till the end of season
- No non grata lists from her, no coming/going to training as she wants
- Has to get her 3A back

And small tidbit from Eteri - it was Diana that persuaded her, saying that she has to give Alyona a second chance.
Hmm, guess who had the most leverage between her and Eteri?

Now I gout really curious how they handled the financial part with Aliona's obligations towards AoP.
On another note, if TT manage to get Aliona back in shape, this will be a huge slap in the face of Pluschenko. It's going to be an interesting end of the season (besides the WC, if it takes place)..

Wait so does Eteri want the 3A like by the end of the season??
Actually, with the right coach and training, I dont think it is totally impossible. Alena was actually wanting to train the 3a in the lead up to Russian Cup but Plushenko and co wouldnt allow her. Which probably means mentally she is in the right mindset to return to the 3a.

“Diana was her lawyer. The daughter said: "Mom, you must give a chance." It seems to me that God ordered to give a chance after all.
I don't want to keep in my head the thought that I could give an opportunity. Then the person is left with unfulfilled hope for the rest of his life. It seems to you that there you could have done something, but you were not given the opportunity" Eteri said

Daria doesn't dominate.

I feel like you've missed the point.

I'm saying NOW the highest technical content (but you have to perform it cleanly). In what world does that apply to Daria? Technical content also applies to spins and step sequences, obviously. That's included in the TES score.

As a fan, I just hope that this is the end of the drama now. It seems like Aliona took it all on herself, which is the first truly intelligent thing she did in a while. And I don't think it was untruthful. Seems like she was training less rigorously with Plushenko, and she needs the push that Eteri's environment gives her.

She has huge motivation now, and nothing will come easy. I kind of think this type of challenge will wake her up, we'll see.

She could barely make it through her triples. That was the right decision.
