Also, if I were Lakernik and Eteri I would pray Anna doesn't:
- twist her leg on slippery pavement or
- get stuck in the traffic on her way to her flight to Stockholm or
- get kidnapped by aliens or
- get hurt in any possible way in the next two weeks,

because it will have become clear what has just happened today and I'll personally lead riots of shcherbabots in the Red Square. :cautious:

Ah, also news said: There will be show of Team Tutberidze and Alena will be skating.

She will skate the Daniil's "trash" program

To me that's the worst part of all of this. She left cause she wanted more, she wanted to smile and arguargbly had all the rights to do it.

It didn't work with Plushenko and now she is half-forced to come back if she wants to get relevant again which is extremely sad.

The vibes from the article are kinda creepy to me, the public self-humiliation hoping the old coach still cares about you is just wrong in my mind. I'd have never done it, rather go somewhere else.

Averbukh!

After 2018 the collaboration is over i think.

He was a better choreographer but ultimately it was still very much pushing gimmicky programs, i think that's what Eteri wants, cause you looked at the programs Ilya has done after and they're not that way.

The whole interview was depressing. Aliona is not in a good place. She seems desperate and sad. Perhaps it is true that she isn't good at self motivation. However, I think it is important for each skater and each individual ( skater or not) to learn how to self motivate and take control of their own lives. I hope she gets what she wants out of this return, but I worry about her physical health and her emotional health.

I think so, too, now. But still, at least he kept some semblance of what makes a good program. Daniil did produce some good programs this season, but next season it's the Olympics again, and I hope to see everyone with a good program. Medvedeva, Kostornaia, Usacheva, Kromykh, Valieva, and Shcherbakova, so they can split into two groups of three if they hire another choreographer. Still too many skaters to one person (who'll be making two programs for each skater...), but better than 6 skaters all to one choreographer.

Also, I hope Trusova gets external help now. Literally anyone other than Rozanov will do. I guess we might see Morozov?

Really. I mean she's smiling and laughing in the video here. It looks like she's happy to be given this opportunity to prove herself.

Do we know when the skaters are leaving and if they'll have to do a week-long quarantine as recommended by the Swedish government?
I could be wrong on all of this haha. But, I don’t think we know when the skaters are leaving their home country but I believe I read that they arrive only a day or two before the first practice. So, practically no real quarantine... (unless something has changed). I hope that changes and all skaters have to at least quarantine a week, but it’s the ISU so who knows :slink:

Teams must arrive in Stockholm on Saturday March 20 or latest on Sunday March 21 ('on', meaning no early arrival). This implies no week-long quarantine.

Judges for each event also have their specific arrival dates.

See Page 6 for more details.

How is she "half forced" to come back? It is 100% her own decision.

Recognizing your own mistakes, sucking up your pride and admitting you were wrong are not "self-humiliation", it's being humble and it takes guts.

And Eteri didn't have to take her back either after the way Aliona left. Other coaches in her place probably wouldn't do it.

I doubt that Shcherbakova will be getting any less attention from her coaching team because Kostornaia is back in Eteri's group. And the fact that the media drama circus seems focused around Kostornaia, that might help Shcherbakova out.
As strange as it sounds (for a 3x national champ) I think in a way Shcherbakova has always kind of flew under the radar. Last season Trusova and Kostornaia got the lion share of attention and this season it was Valieva and Trusova. Yes she has always been in the conversation for victory but she's never truly been "THE FAVORITE," or one with the big spotlight.

She has always shared her coaches and the spotlight so I don't see how Kostornaia returning will suddenly throw her off her game. She strikes me as too practical and single mindedly focused on her own goals to let it to let any outside happenings bother her anyway.

She'll be underdog next season too. I guess that the setting suits her. Although for this world championship event, she should actually be the favorite for once.

You can feel the triumphant ooze from Eteri in that interview. Haha

Reminded me of that old football saying. “Football is a simple game. Twenty-two men chase a ball for 90 minutes and at the end, the Germans always win.”

There should be one for her:
“Figure skating, is a simple game. Well, not that simple since you need an advanced degree to decipher the scoring. A few blades, a little ice, a little practice and a lot money and even more drama. And in the end, Eteri wins. Eteri also wins in the beginning and the middle.”

Tut allowed Aliona to rejoin the team, but... on probationary basis :scratch2:
I'm sort of pissed off about the probation like shes a criminal. ;) I am happy she is back when the lady I think you nicknamed Queen Tut. So what are the easons? To get her ahead of Dasha and Maya and sasha for the Olympic team? Work to keep her away from other Moscow based coaches who could help this girl get her back into good form during the Olympic season? which would pose a real threat do a couple of the EG girls.

So if after 2 months Aliona doesn't cut the mustard they're going to let her go to cska Davydov or snow leopards or Mishin? I'm sure any one of these coaches would love to have AK going into the Olympic season. I was pumped that alyona is back with TT then I saw the interview about the probation. She can't miss any more days and we all know the girl is not feeling well. But I'm willing to wait and see how it goes and see if she can fit back into TT have that fast paced training they do.

Pro wrestling terminology in a figure skating forum. Now I’ve definetel seen it all. Haha

But I have said that figur skating does pro wrestling better than pro wrestling does. Crooked referees, Dusty finishes, heel turns, etc.
I had to look up the term 'kayfabe' and finally discovered that pro wrestling is a pre-scripted performance carried out by actors 😂 Never watched, but all this time I vaguely thought it was an actual sport (like Olympic wrestling but with stroppier, higher-paid athletes and a funny dress code).

Probation seems customary if a skater leaves a coach and then comes back, Tarakanova was on probation with Panova when she went to her for the second time after leaving her for Eteri then Plushenko then back to Panova. Kostornaia didn't exactly leave Eteri under the best of terms last year. Per my comment a little earlier about the probation as well: A lot of the rumors that have come out of AoP and some of the comments made by Eteri regarding Kostornaia's first departure implied behavioral issues. Probationary period is probably to vet out if she's truly onboard with doing things Eteri's way with no talk-back, no drama.

I had an aunt that used to love wrestling back in the 90s and my parents splurged for her birthday and got her great seats at an event; she was able to hear them talking to each other about their next 'moves', basically it's brutal theater. Sorry for the little OT there Mods
