Just a little technical note. when you get even a little achievement on steam, the steam announces it to you and you can actually see it. Here you you win really a supergreat acghievemtn for which you worked truly hard, you are looking forward to it, but you can't actually even read it that you won it till it expires. Just little customer feedback :)
:rofl::rofl::rofl:

Anna hasnt fallen on a quad all season. I dont expect her to at worlds. More likely rika will fall on hers, though I HOPE she doesnt.
She actually fell on her 4Lz at test skates (she didn't try a 4F).

She also was only doing one quad (4F) at the stages. And she had a hand down on her 4F at the channel 1 cup.

Yes. I am. :)

Though one note. You wrote that Rika has the highest PCS of those who will be competing at worlds. But if we take some comparable competitions from 2019/2020 season, Anna had higher PCS at GPF than Rika and she also received higher PCS than Rika at Europeans than Rika received at 4CC (both in SP and FS). the difference is not crucial, but there is and Anna as current russian No. 1 wil surely go up in PCS (of course unless she would bomb or something). Can't properly compare current competitions, no need to go into details about that.
They were pretty much tied at the GPF. Both 34's in the SP (especially considering Rika messed up her 3A and then fell on her 3T while Anna was clean). Rika was 68.86 in the FS and Anna was 69.13. (Both also fell once and underrotated another ultra-c element.) So once again, pretty much tied. And while I expect Anna's to go up, I also expect Rika's to as well. Both will be #1 for their Feds and neither will be first year seniors anymore.

Yes, the difference was small, and we can be pretty sure the difference will be small now unless one of them messes up completely. It's just that I think the claim "There is no one in this competition that gets higher PCS than Rika" shouldn't be so strict.

This discussions reminds me of that time back in 2018 when people were like " Alina is going to win Worlds automatically by just showing up"
Well, Trusova and Anna have already peacked and they didn't had the best showing all season long ( the best was nationals). Everything can happen, but you better not be too cocky about the end results. We know it can backfire really quick....

Yeah, definitely. I was actually just referring to Rika's SP TES and their correlation to her PCS though (when she's clean).

I think what people are saying is that they DO have to be clean. But also mathematically as long as they rotate everything...

I DID say they had to at least rotate everything (even if they fell on a quad) because if clean Liza T, Kaori, Bradie could potentially catch them if they don't.

And both Anna and Sasha will upgrade for World's.

Also that was a disastrous skate for Alina. She fell three times in the FS (getting a minus 4 deduction). She also messed up her 3Lz, downgraded her 3T, under-rotated her 3Lo, and under-rotated her 3S. She only had two jumps - single 3F and single 2A - with positive GOE in her ENTIRE skate.

People aren't talking about Anna, Sasha, and Rika winning while falling THREE times. Also you know the fun part about that though? Even with that skate, Alina was only 3 points away from silver. Even WITH all those calls, she still had the 3rd highest BV. Layout and BV really does help (and so do PCS) even with a meltdown..

A week ago or so I read an interview in which Plushenko “implied” that Sasha might go back to 5 quads? Has anyone else seen that? Can’t remember the exact wording, but it was something along the lines of “...Sasha’s been doing well...who knows, perhaps we will go back to 5 quads program.” We all know - can’t take Plushenko‘s words too seriously...but I think Sasha has an 80% chance of upgrading for Worlds.

Anna, too, historically she always starts the season with relatively reserved technical content, and gradually upgrade towards the last competition. Her sickness adds some uncertainty to this but as we’ve seen, this girl is likely not going to back down...I’d say there’s 70% chance she’ll go back to the 3 quad layout.

Rika’s always been conservative regarding upgrade. She also tend to look at what happens before her to decide her layout (if she skates late to her main competitors). For her 3lz - any sign showing they’re back? I thought she hasn’t been able to do lz due to injury for a while. I feel like she will do her nationals layout, without lz, but changing the second half 2a to a 3a. I hope she goes full out though.

Rika definitely is more conservative - only doing what she thinks she has to. She had her 3Lz back last year (although there is a chance covid messed that up since then but as for since recovering from injury - she has it back.) At 4CCs and the Challenge Cup she had her 3Lz back - she actually landed three at the challenge cup last year - 1 in the SP and 2 in the FS.

As for Sasha - I thought that was she wanted 5 quads for the Olympics. Although I certainly expect her to have at least 3.

Anna said she wanted 3 quads for RusNats but pneumonia changed that. I would expect her at at least try for 3 at World's - depending on how practice goes.

Your back! Eteris #1 supporter is back!

You missed a lot.

Since there haven't been any international competitions this year, this is going to be so interesting. In the past we've had clear PCS leaders of the field, but we have no idea the way the judges will slice it between Anna and Rika. Then there's element GOEs, jump calling and the rest. We've been in the dark for so long but our questions are finally going to be answered! Bring it on.

Looks like Alina considered coming back this season, although more than that is pretty unclear. i'm not sure if this happened before the season or during, or what she's thinking about next season. i really wish she would come back for one last hurrah.

But that's the thing - she was referring to Liza T and Kaori too. Anna falling twice on both quads will be around 155. That is catchable by Liza T and Kaori - they're at 153/154 when clean.

Anna doesn't need 3 quads for Rika - she needs that for Sasha. Besides, the difference in BV between Anna with 2 quads and Rika with 3 quads and 1 quad sal is about 3.5 points.

I assume a typo? And you meant: the difference in BV between Anna with 2 quads and Rika with 3 3A and 1 quad Salchow is about 3.5 points. Just checking because I want to make sure I'm following.

Aliona's season in just three Pink Floyd songs:
The grass was greener, The light was brighter and when the ringing of the division bell begun, the High Hopes were awaken.
But then, as she listened to her breathing that sounded like the waves on the sea, she realized she can Take It Back.
And, with hope, in some time, the high hopes say she's Coming Back to Life.
...after half a year of wishing you were here.

Welcome back, both of you. :)

Somebody please tell me, Russian Novice Nats are gonna be streamed as usual. :console:
They're starting today and I see no planned stream in YT.

Just wanted to make sure everyone saw that there is a youtube link. It was posted by Nogagolova above and there's also a thread for the competition started by LadyB. The competition also goes by the name Zhuk Memorial, which is news to me. Boys elements up on the stream already!
