Yeah hahaI assume a typo? And you meant: the difference in BV between Anna with 2 quads and Rika with 3 3A and 1 quad Salchow is about 3.5 points. Just checking because I want to make sure I'm following.

I would like too and we all hope she will come back one day.Looks like Alina considered coming back this season, although more than that is pretty unclear. i'm not sure if this happened before the season or during, or what she's thinking about next season. i really wish she would come back for one last hurrah.

I remember her training a 4F on harness but I don't think she was close..Alina definitely has enough time to get into form if she starts in the next few months. She would win medals for sure, but none of the big prizes. Just for fun, which would be the easiest quad for Alina?
I say 4T. Her Toe-jumps are better than edge jumps. The obvious answer is 4F but the rotation is harder.
Since there haven't been any international competitions this year, this is going to be so interesting. In the past we've had clear PCS leaders of the field, but we have no idea the way the judges will slice it between Anna and Rika. Then there's element GOEs, jump calling and the rest. We've been in the dark for so long but our questions are finally going to be answered! Bring it on.

Yes. I am.
Though one note. You wrote that Rika has the highest PCS of those who will be competing at worlds. But if we take some comparable competitions from 2019/2020 season, Anna had higher PCS at GPF than Rika and she also received higher PCS than Rika at Europeans than Rika received at 4CC (both in SP and FS). The difference is not crucial, but there is and Anna as current russian No. 1 wil surely go up in PCS (of course unless she would bomb or something). Can't properly compare current competitions, no need to go into details about that.
Yeah agreed. It's just - from I remember - really the only time we've heard that she was training quads at all. By 2019 she was saying they (quads) were too dangerous for her to learn.Searched on youtube and found the video below, doesn't look all that close - Dudakov appears to be assisting with lifting to get the rotation in and it looks short, and if this was loaded on the day it was filmed its from December 2018...that was quite awhile ago. And hasn't she been struggling on her 3F's in her exhibitions?

Yeah but she had pretty much caught Aliona by the end of the year.Another point to be added to the PCS conversation from last season: it was Shcherbakova's first senior season and she wasn't the Russian #1 last year.
It all boils down what would make the reigning and defending Olympic and world champion happy next season?Looks like Alina considered coming back this season, although more than that is pretty unclear. i'm not sure if this happened before the season or during, or what she's thinking about next season. i really wish she would come back for one last hurrah.

I think Alina without ultra jumps can still score in the 230 range. That means some podiums.
EG would have a mature lady skater the media says she doesn't have. Of course Zhenya in 2018 at the age of 18 was a very mature skater for EG.
Smart way to tease everyone. She is making too much money and putting her body through a lot less stress now. Can just sit back and collect that Puma money, that Channel 1 money and all the flowers and gear she can handle.8 all boils down what would make the reigning and defending Olympic and world champion happy next season?

Alina can collect even more money if she wins say Tallin or Nebelhorn plus podium at IDF oo Rostelcom!Smart way to tease everyone. She might be thinking about it, but I seriously doubt she will do it. That “break“ is going on a few years.
Don’t think Medvedva will return either. Although she is more likely than Zagitova to return. She has a lot of revenue trees too now.
The gap is growing the more they sit out anyway.
Why go through all that trouble to get back into game shape to win bronze at best?
Alina brought up skating again competitively.Yeah, she doesn't need to have quads/triple axels to get Challenger and GP medals next year (most likely) but would a skater that was going to the Olympics and Worlds be content with only getting challenger and GP events with little to no shot (unless something drastic happens) at the major competitions again and going to Nationals and struggling to be in the top 5? And is she willing to back-burner her non-competitive career to train to do all of that, Daniil had said in an interview earlier in the season she wasn't training as much as previously and its evident by her skating, its lots of basic crossovers and posing, which is fine in exhibitions but its very far removed from competition programs.
That would be a terrible idea, like a guarantee for multiple falls and for this Worlds it wouldn't even be worth the risk.A week ago or so I read an interview in which Plushenko “implied” that Sasha might go back to 5 quads? Has anyone else seen that? Can’t remember the exact wording, but it was something along the lines of “...Sasha’s been doing well...who knows, perhaps we will go back to 5 quads program.” We all know - can’t take Plushenko‘s words too seriously...but I think Sasha has an 80% chance of upgrading for Worlds.
I agree. I think Sasha should go with 3 quads, and try to hit that 3a in the short. Placement comes second for her. She really needs to show RusFed that she is capable of skating reliably and clean on important competitions, and boost her PCS a bit. Next season, with Maia hitting quads + Alyona return + Daria potentially doing quads, she really needs some credentials to make her count. I’d say her performance is extremely important in that regard, and 2 clean programs (even if she comes second after Anna) would significantly increase her chance of making the team next year. That would be a terrible idea, like a guarantee for multiple falls and for this Worlds it wouldn't even be worth the risk.
And also considering that Sasha has been recently injured.
Better to try that during Olympic season when it really counts and it's going to be all or nothing. And even then, it would probably be better to just stabilize the 3A and maybe 3 quads. More than that is too risky.
