Eteri scores don‘t explain the leniency on Tennell and Chen. I‘m not the biggest Eteri fan (as in: I‘m not a fan at all) but this is pure politics and not just for her skaters. Russia and US are the most influential feds and it shows in a way that is both bizarre and disgusting.

Oh god.. here we go with the whole "is it a flutz or not" debate. Pages and pages of bickering and nothing ever gets resolved because John Stuart Mills was correct.

I think the placements are correct given Rika's downgrades. If she had landed them cleanly then no excuse or argument she should have been in first.

Yeah. I think that they could ask their skaters to fully rotate their jumps, and to not jump Lutz on deep inside edge.

Or you favorites trip in the Stepseq and lutz edge and 37 PCS ( with the worst SS in the top group) or Liza's UR and 34 In PCS when they gave Rika 35 and Satoko 34. We all focus on what we want don't we?

SS are only one of the PCS. And Sasha's also aren't strong. Her PCS were also high. Also PCS are capped when you make serious errors. Remember? Satoko's were almost maxed.

Rika's were too low though. And the South Koreans were too low.

Yeah I agree, US and Russia seem to have most power! I wish that this event was scored fairly, but it’s skating so...

I think the Eteri bonus played a role for Anna (highest SS lol) but the US girls were also definitely gifted as well. How are they ahead of Haein, Kaori, and Yelim?!

Why Rika got 35 in PCS while Anna 37? Is there anything superior in Anna's artistry/choreography than Rika's?

I think Anna‘s a better performer but Rika‘s program is better structured, IMO, and she also has waaaay better skating skills. I‘d probably have it like that:

PE, TR and IN won by Anna, the other two by Rika, with the SS gap being substantial.

That was kind of depressing (I respect Shcherbakova, but she does nothing for me unfortunately). Luckily, I don't root for anyone in particular in pairs, so they should be easier to watch.

IMO , Scherbakova is one of the best skaters since Yuna Kim . I know that’s likely to be incendiary and maybe seen as presumptuous , but she has the goods

I like Shcherbakova much better than Kim. She gives more emotion, and she feels the music from within. I feel she isn't just doing what the choreographer says to do. Eteri said years ago that of the 3A she was the most sensitive. It made her seem fragile then, but she's got competitive nerves. Her sensitivity is one of the things that allows her to go above others with more tech. And then, there's the exquisite beauty and technique of her actual jumps.

No one should be more upset than Mae. Sasha and the others should have a good cry and then get mad and show us what they know they can do.

Yes, everything. Especially expression and musicality. Transitions. Transitions are a pretty big one actually, Anna's are quite insane on this program.

Rika has a lot of transitions. A more complicated StepSeq. Better SS. The other PCS categories are open to debate but never does Anna deserve higher PCS in those categories than Rika.
