World Team Trophy Reflections from Team Captain Jason Brown - U.S. Figure Skating
The seventh World Team Trophy is in the books, and I am super proud of Team USA for fighting to a silver medal finish. We have made it onto the podium at this competitionusfigureskatingfanzone.com
I'm really glad he got to go this year.

Maybe the choreo was a little less to give him experience incorporating a quad, so that when next year/Olympics rolls around, they'll amp up the choreo to his usual plus include the quad to give him the best opportunity to earn the most points. Smart this year to step back the choreo, IF that is what happened. For some reason, I think the choreography for SL was deliberately kept spare, whether it was to showcase his skating skills, lines, and lyricism, or to allow the theme and emotion to take center stage, or to give him a less busy program that would help him incorporate the quad and still execute the other required elements successfully. I mean, whenever people discuss Jason’s PCS v PCS for quad heavy programs, someone invariably says well he can do those programs bc he’s not doing quads. Right? So even though I think they’ll add to the choreography if he keeps SL, I don’t necessarily think complicating it to the degree of Slaughter is necessary or the best idea. Sinnerman showcases his ability to handle that kind of complex choreography, so a less dense SL seems okay to me. JMO.
I don’t see Jason doing any serious coaching for another 3 years. I could definitely see him work with Rohene someplace on choreography. TCC is for Canadian coaches. He hasn’t said much lately that I recall, but he used to say that he wanted to (1) teach English in Japan after graduation (not sure for how long), and (2) work in FS broadcasting. Not sure if that has changed. He loves little kids so I could see him coaching them, perhaps at TCC, perhaps at Scott Hamilton’s program where Kori is.
I see Jason in many ice shows. Spending time around the world. Simon also said Jason (James Brown) hadn’t been in the Olympics before. They need to get rid of that guy.Yes like where did the comment that Jason wants to choreo (at least I think that’s what Simon said during the gala)come from? Another comment pulled out of his hat?
my complete guess based on nothing other than it’s fun to guess: teaches English in Japan for a year with skating lessons on the side for a rink that would be happy to promote lessons with Jason. I don’t see high level here, I see kids and LTS and lots of fun.

Agreed. Jason knows what needs to be done, it’s just not as easy as non skaters think to fix it. I believe he was held back by Kori in his early development. He is doing his best and loves skating.Maybe the choreo was a little less to give him experience incorporating a quad, so that when next year/Olympics rolls around, they'll amp up the choreo to his usual plus include the quad to give him the best opportunity to earn the most points. Smart this year to step back the choreo, IF that is what happened.

He has said in many articles how difficult it is for him to adapt and learn Rohene's choreo.
