Jason Brown

I don't know if the creativity is there for Jason to choreograph - he's said many times how hard it is for him to learn choreo (as El mentioned). Don't know if there's a link there. But I would hate to see his ability to interpret music and his beautiful moves on the ice just fall by the wayside if he could possibly work with other skaters on their presentation.

As for coaching in Toronto - where does it say you have to be Canadian? I think he would be an excellent addition to the Cricket team.

Back in the 1990's there was a skating music database. One of the things they tracked was whether skaters over or under performed to certain music.

Slaughter was the biggest loser.
.

So I am glad we have seen the last of it.

Yes like where did the comment that Jason wants to choreo (at least I think that’s what Simon said during the gala)come from? Another comment pulled out of his hat?

my complete guess based on nothing other than it’s fun to guess: teaches English in Japan for a year with skating lessons on the side for a rink that would be happy to promote lessons with Jason. I don’t see high level here, I see kids and LTS and lots of fun.
:)

I'm afraid I just don't see Jason doing choreo.:scratch2: He has said in many articles how difficult it is for him to adapt and learn Rohene's choreo.

Jason is a master interpreter, not a creator, and that's fine. An accomplished musician does not *need* to be a composer. :)
Maybe. But he has been changing programs frequently with his coaches. I believe offers to do new exciting things will come his way.

I think what Jason can teach is choreography. Interpreting music is a gift. I think his beautiful hand and arm movements have come from working with Rohene. The future is wide open for him.

Loved this exchange between Rohene and Tai Babilonia in the comments section of a Rohene IG post: https://www.instagram.com/p/CN5Yd64JGpY/

Tai: Jason's performance to #ninasimonewas the exception [to her preference for non-vocal music] 🙌🏽 He could skate to someone playing the triangle with your choreography & it would be brilliant!

Rohene: bahahahahahaa I'm dead. In fact I'm rounding up a few triangle players.

Oh, no a triangle program:dbana::biggrin:

bow___bagley Thank you @jasonbskates for choreographing my new favorite program ❤️ #saysomething

FYI ... Bow and Jason used to train together.

A few other Jason related items:

Close to the secret of high score even without 4 rotations!
If someone could translate the Japanese youtube video it would be fantastic. What I can gleam is that one skater shows the other skater a few of Jason's jumps with crazy transitions (hydroblade into double axel, etc.) and then the second skater tries to recreate them. A nice demonstration of the difficulty in what Jason does and why he earns high scores.

The VK Russian fan site Jason Brown - Beauty on Ice posted his exhibition to Melancholy and tagged the composer, Alexey Kosenko (who is also a member of the site). He replied and posted the video on his page: Alexey Kosenko (Kos Sen) with the comment, "It's nice when you hear your track like this!)))))) Unexpectedly"

Well, I was skeptical about Jason wanting to be choreographer, and I. was. wrong. Go Jason:cheer:

And looking through Bow's IG, her coach is none other than Emily Oltmanns. As near as I can tell, they both moved to Minnesota in late 2019? Millie probably to work with her mother?

So the BFFs Jason and Millie get to have a reunion and Bow gets some choreo:)

So Emily is no longer with Kori in Nashville? Interesting! The choreo does look like Jason. He and Ro have worked together so long, Jason certainly learned a thing or two! I still dream of a Jason and Friends ice show touring the world after he stops competing.

And I also would love a translator for the Japanese video that @katmari posted.

Youtube's automatic translation "awesome super monkey" probably doesn't mean exactly that;)
