2021 Cranberry Cup International

Not perfect (yet), but very well done Alexa and Brandon! Brandon looks a bit serious, but Alexa is just so pleased to skate and looks joyful. Should be at least second (and I really loved Jessica and Brian but this was better).

Maybe unpopular opinion but C/J shouldn't have been that far from T/M.
Unpopular? No way!

I have an awful feeling that T/M might win this with horrible mistakes and any goodwill towards them will evaporate in a puff of smoke.

Next time they appear the majority will want them to fail so fairness prevails.
A bit funny (and think what you may) but I'm on the same corner as where Eteri was and I saw her talking to a lady who comes and goes to the Judge panel lol.
She better not have done anything for those scores. Better to be beloved in last place than despised in first.

Looking back, I do think T/M should be on top, but the difference between 1. and 2. is too big. I think it is correct that K/F and C/J are close together, but more than five points between T/M and those two pairs? Don't get it. Also C/H could have gotten a bit more. I mean...that performance. They all made mistakes, that's just not it.

Well, looking at protocols, I don't disagree too much with the scores. Maybe both top Americans were underscored, but I wouldn't say T/M were that overscored. It was a well-skated program, and if clean, they would have scored around 80, which is what they would usually get.

WHOA they just downgraded C/J levels everywhere. I saw it live and it really was great guys. Their death spiral was great.... ok im so confused...

You are right. It was different at the Challenge Cup last season when T/M also made mistakes but really, truly were much better than the number 2 pair (although that couple was underscored somewhat but not so clearly as happened here). I agree: better to be beloved in last place than despised in first. A shame really, I honestly enjoy watching T/M. And they were the best...just not so much better than 2. and 3. as the scores signify.

Protocols are up, and frankly, they raise more questions than they answer.

After the initial fall on the jump combo, T/M scored monstrous levels and GOE on every single element, plus a four+ point PCS lead on the field.

They outscored Brian and Jessica on the TWIST. C'mon now...

Tarasova looks too sweet and kind for anyone to despise her. Judging should never be laid at the feet of competitors. It is the fault of the judges and sometimes the (powerful, scary ) coaches.

You're probably right and I'm being melodramatic.

It's just I believe so much they can win fairly and by doing this the judges are tarnishing it. Now if they win we won't know if they deserved it or not. Or even if they did it will still be bitter instead of triumphant.
