I personally think it's loyalty that matters most to Eteri.
She's been taking back students that left her, though. Is it really such a big deal?

I've been wondering about this myself, but perhaps Eteri genuinely likes Daniil's programs. Or rather, they earn her skaters high scorers so there's no sense in changing what's working.

In his defense, in 2018 he only had like 4 Olympic programs he need to choreograph, as the rest were for juniors. This year he had to choreograph almost 10 programs, not including juniors.
@Fluture said it's not all from Daniil, so I'm curious who did which. Maiia's LP was not (+ kept last season's SP). So are you saying Kostornaia/Usacheva/Trusova/Shcherbakova had both their programs from Daniil + Valieva's SP, making 9 new ones from him?

Watching Anna's FS again, I am not so bothered by the music cuts, but her packaging has become so similar to Medvedeva's, down to the sound effects, hand expressions, and skid-spiral. When she was a junior and during her first senior season, her programs were more special and showcased her unique expressiveness. Now, it's like her team is just making her into Medvedeva 2.0. Disappointed.

I knew that a few programs were done by other choreographers, but I don’t know the exact number, so say approximately 2-3 programs. 6 girls need 12 programs. Kamila kept her FS, so that’s 11. Maiia kept her SP, making 10. Minus maybe 2 programs from other choreographers, that would be 8.

So “almost 10 programs“ is an estimate, but I don’t know the exacts.

In his interview he said they do all programs together with Eteri, so he never does it alone.
As for Ksenia, I think she’s the ballet teacher? Probably they involve her help for some elements, maybe arm movement, but I doubt she’s a full time choreographer.
Aside from them, Georgyi Pokhilyuk is the one who did Sadkova’s 2 programs this season.

I am really uneasy about Anna using Mozart Requiem for the last part of her program. Its just sounds like the perfect music to a disaster skate at Rus Nats knowing you've just wasted years of your life and lost the chance of going to the olympics. Not the sound of an olympic winning program. And it's also giving me some Black swan the movie vibes if u know what I mean. Also we all know the tragic themed program never wins cue Evgenia Anna Karenina.

I played around and tried to score Sasha

Her tech score would have been something like this:

4F +3 = 14.30
4S -2 = 7.76
2A3T +3 = 8.76
4T +2 = 11.40
Spin +2 = 4.20
Choreo +3 = 4.50
4Lz3T +3 = 20.72
4Lz +3 = 16.10
3Lz1Eu3S +3 = 13.54
Spin +2 = 3.84
Steps +2 = 4.68
Spin +2 = 4.20
Total Tech score: 114.00

PCS abt 70?? would mean a total score of 184 points

...or something like that. I might have been generous with spins and steps (lv4) and GOE is very individual.

Sasha is simply just amazing. Looking at her form, She would keep those quads even if she gets taller by next year after the olympic. The team also put more thought on her programs than the others. She is clearly the team favorite.

The other eteri girls music choices in the sp or fp are fine for me (except the bolero), but they do need to recruit someone else to tweek on those choreographies though, since they are basically empty and uninspired (esp their step sequences).

On the other topic, ksenia seems to lose tons of weight and it is a bit worrying, like even junior anna seems to have more muscle than her. I guess that is why they gave her those balon sleeves on the short and tried to hide it with the white shirt over her dress thingy. I hope she is getting healthier as the season goes on.

Huh, ok. So who did Kromykh's tango, then? Daniil + Eteri?

Daria:
The music was ok but something was missing for me that I can't quite put my finger on. Daria's skating skills are gorgeous and she still skates her heart out but she didn't look quite comfortable today.

Kseniia:
Omg i love it. Kseniia has the smoothest skating skills around (don't come at me but I think she might even be better than Daria and Aliona 👀). Not a fan of the crash sounds at the beginning, especially as I don't understand the significance but the rest of the program has a lot of potential and is Olympic worthy imo.

Liza Nugumanova:
This program suits her so well and Liza is always a joy to watch. I hope she continues with show skating for many years after retirement.

Sofia:
I don't really understand some of the arm movements but I think the program works alright for her. The more pop sounding middle part plays to her strengths. Hope the season goes well for her but I don't think she'll be much of a threat.

Maiia:
Oh dang, I think the top girls need to watch out because that program is good for her. Love the outfit, gives me spider queen/maleficent vibes. Roxanne is a bit overused but I kind of like what they've done with the choreo.

Aliona:
That 3A was strong, she's looking so much better today than yesterday so it looks like she needs some more confidence. I think they need to work more on the choreography, it's kind of generic at the moment. Definitely a big personal win for her today but I hope she'll get some challengers or something to keep building that confidence.

Anna:
I'm a bit confused by this program but Anna performs anything she gets. The sorrowful gazes are getting a bit samey though, I was hoping for some more range from her. Her skating skills and speed look much better than 2 years ago so lots of respect for her hard work there.

Liza Tuktamysheva:
I love how different this FP is and Liza has so much fun with it. And is it just me or has she got more transitions now??? Yes please for this Liza glow up.

Kamila:
Oof lots of falls and iffy landings today. Wasn't expecting that but I think she's finally more relaxed now and letting her personality shine through. So bolero was much more enjoyable for me this time despite the jumps. Could it be that Daniil was right to keep it?? 😱

Sasha:
Holy moly, if Sasha can do that again, nobody can touch her. What a great program too.

I really hope that tonight's success will be a huge confidence boost for Sasha for her coming season. We all know she had a mental block, a stage fear or whatever you choose to call it, that made her prone to falling during competitions even after perfect practises. Now she finally made it clean and with five quads landed as she always wanted. A great beginning of the Olympic season, the first outing to change that bad memory trace of not delivering when it counts. She was unstoppable and untouchable today and I hope she remembers this fact, this feeling and this state of mind when she comes out onto the ice the next time for a competition. And that it will help her repeat this success many, many times to come. Actually I think it is a very wise move from Eteri to let Sasha start competing low-key in a small competition before her GP stage.
Otherwise, both Sasha's and Anna's performances stood out for me, even with the mistakes they have both made in their SPs. Sasha's programmes are just tailor-made for her and she clearly is able to go all out with them. I actually like Anna's weird music, and her gentle presence on the ice is always a treasure, no matter what.
A little disappointed with Alena - good for her to have 3A back but the programmes are not really there yet, and besides, they do not really fit the music too well, not letting her show her magic. Stiill, as someone already said, she still has some time to work on them.

Kamila has shown last season she is capable of performing Bolero but this piece needs to be done right on the beat and when she is off the mark like she did today because off the jumps then it looks bad.

Huh, ok. So who did Kromykh's tango, then? Daniil + Eteri?
Yes, likely. I wouldn’t be taking ISU bio too literally.

You know what I was thinking. With Trankov and Slyusarenko, when it’s 5 of them, they look like a freaking coaching gang. They’re looking quite badass! No wonder T/M show improvements when there are these 5 right behind them. Now, they need to stand as 5 for ladies/men as well, just for an additional confidence boost 😂
