Fear & Gibson are out of ACI, hopefully it's nothing serious.
I will CRY if it’s an injury. I don’t believe there were reports of any injuries a few days ago at British Quals, but anything can happen in a day I guess. I wonder if they’re hedging their bets that ACI might not happen? But unless they sign up elsewhere they’re missing valuable WS points....

@DSQ you made a valuable point on another site - I’m wondering if quarantine restrictions/entering Canada from the UK might mean they don’t have any/enough time to prep for ACI as it’s in just over two weeks time.

Yeah, sounds like it's the quarantine requirement coming back to Canada. Not enough time before ACI.

From September 7, fully vaccinated British travelers won't have to isolate, but I assume at the moment that they do, so this could well affect Lilah and Lewis. However, if this is the reason, I'm surprised they didn't (if possible) remain in Britain to train for a few days until the rule change, then travel back ready for ACl.

On Lilah's instagram last night she posted a picture of her drinking a milkshake at a little coffee shop with the caption #jetlag, which suggests to me they must still be in Britain. Considering they haven't really been able to go home since the pandemic, maybe they're taking more time to see family at home? And decided the quick turn around to ACI wasn't worth it. All speculation, of course.

In notable news, Billy Wilson French, who was a two-time British junior medalist in ice dance with former partner Lucy Hancock, has formed a new partnership with American dancer Katarina Delcamp.

Delcamp was the 2021 US junior bronze medalist with her former partner Ian Somerville, and is quite a nice import for British skating. This is her on the JGP two years ago:

That's great news - Billy's skating is beautiful and I'd heard he was looking for a new partner - glad he's found one - best of luck to them both.

And he's coached by Yebin Mok, whose skating is absolutely beautiful. Looking forward to seeing Billy and Katarina compete.

Looking at oniceperspectives Instagram story it looks like the BBC are with them all in Montreal. That‘s exciting, giving British figure skating some mainstream attention. That may be the reason for their change of plan with ACI.

I think the BBC are making a documentary about British figure skaters ahead of the Olympics. They've been doing filming sessions at IceSheffield, including at the British qualifiers last month.

Lilah and Lewis, along with a number of other British skaters have been assigned to Budapest Trophy. As it's one week after Finlandia, I assume F/G are just staying in Europe, either going straight to Hungary or maybe stopping by Ally Pally in between.

Also, F/G also posted some instagram stories of them working with Tessa Virtue again - who else better to get coaching from than the queen of ice dance herself?

This is not a drill guys! PJ is on the ice in Germany!! I can’t wait to speak with you all once the competition is finish and we are allowed.
