This is the most white-washed atonal version of Malaguena I have ever heard.

I read this as "Otonal" and immediately began to fantasize about Johnny Weir skating to a mashup of Otonal and Malaguena.

I am not sold on the Russians' Malaguena. The Japanese were more exciting in my opinion.

Frankly, it shouldn't rival the Japanese or Americans tonight either. But, the judges will see that it does.

I'm a bit worried about Sasha and Dima, I didn't like their skating style at first, but they've grown on me and they seem to be struggling quite a bit. I hope they can bounce back.

Yeah, the slooow lift as the music sped up was the opposite of a highlight. I feel like they'd do ok with this as a short but they struggle to maintain the energy for the duration of the free skate.

This is another team that you have to wonder what is going on with. It’s almost like they’ve reached a plateau and have gotten stuck somehow.

I realize this may not be the highest of priorities, particularly in the olympic season, but imma need moskvina to keep their shoulders yanked back. They both look perpetually hunched. Besides that, I don't find this fs remotely close to a "olympic moment" (not that ogms always had "wow" programs)
negativity aside, it's good that they're not peaking at the first gp of the season, at any rate.

Not at the top of their skating tonight, B/K. She lacks the maturity and intensity for a Spanish diva. Japanese deserve to be on top at this point.
