Beautiful skate from Tarasova/Morozov, despite a couple of bobbles.

During their combo spin, the music started freaking me out. It was very weird. Never happened to me before.

Maybe it's Halloween hitting me early.

I definitely don’t think Eteri can skate for them. But let’s not pretend they didn’t go to her as a last resort for a last season.

They have all the qualities in the world, but has a coach helped them harness them to produce a worlds winning performance? No.

Taking into account both SP+FS, the Japanese definitely had the best performance of the pairs.

The US should be thankful that Japan doesn't have a strong ice dance team because with the emergence of M/K the US would have a fight on their hand for the silver at the Olympics.

Takahashi and Tran were never this good and I very much like Mervin, but as a team they never meshed like M/K do. M/K have joy in spades.

i agree ... but that was a long time ago... very few teams were as good back then

I think that music selection would really suit Daniil G's approach to choreography.

Like seriously do they have the most interesting programs, no, but the programs showcase all of their lovely qualities.

I really hope this lights a fire under B/K, because I'm just going to say it now: we haven't seen Pavliuchenko/Khodykin yet this year, but if they consistently perform well internationally, Sasha and Dima could be in trouble.

For the love of any God you believe in, who thought these were the two skaters to give a tuneless, sleepy piece of music to, dressed in grey? Good grief. They have no expression of their own, they need music to give them expression. They are not going to bring a piece of music to life. The strategy escapes me. This does not play to their strengths.

That said, they will no doubt win here.

i think this is actually a smart move... give them something as far away as candyman and they might get a medal
