Men's Short Program

Patrick Chan starts off with beautiful edges and choreography, he skates like a graceful bird, or swan. 3A a bit tight, deep knee-bend and slight cheat on the landing. 3F-3T: off-kilter on both, flip-out on both. Brave of him to try the 3T after the first jump. 3 Lz also a little tight, not much height. Great combination spin in the middle. And lovely footwork sequences. :)

Well, falling on the axel in this comp doesn't bode well....but he didn't give up and the rest was beautiful. I hope he regroups and fights for the long!!!

Can't believe Patrick was that close to Kevin in the PCS marks. He should have been a couple points higher then Kevin. Looks they are still willing to reward a Quad with higher PCS marks. Although I can't see what the 2 have to do with each other.

Johnny got a good score, even with the fall on the 3A, so I feel he has already fought back; I am very proud of him. I hope he can continue to fight in the long program.

Oh, Johnny!

He looked a bit unhappy and preoccupied as he took the ice.

Easy and flowing 3/3, but he lost control of the 3A in the air and landed hard on his butt, 3F out of footwork was a bit tight on the landing -- had to fight to keep free leg from touching the ice. All the spins were fast and centered, great positions. Footwork sequences were smooth and elegant and musical, but perhaps not the faster nor the most difficult. He never gave up on his program, but he looked out of spirits and unhappy...
