I thought Daisuke was deservingly placed in first (btw, there's both a Swiss judge and a Japanese judge on the panel). Hip hop may or may not be your cup of tea, but that's subjective -- can't take away from the difficulty or the amazing musicality of the choreography. Stephane's program may be aesthetically beautiful and musically delightful, but I think choreography-wise it was much less difficult: the transition and choreographic elements mainly just involved arms, head, and other parts of the upperbody. In contrast, Daisuke's program was filled with full-body movements, from the finger tip to the big toes. It's extremely difficult to do what Diasuke did on the ice: all those sharp, dramatic, fast movements, right to the beats of the music! :agree:

Takahashi has the best SP of the year.
Lambiel has the better LP, though.
Daisuke was flawless, it was unbeliavable!
As I said before Stephane's almost fall while skating had to affect the PCS mark, the PE or the SS mark for sure. But well, after Nationals, that was brilliant. I did think that his 3a was going to get downgraded, especially after the slow mo, but well. He did good all and all.
I'm sad about Johnny, you could see he was nervous, but on the positive side, he has definetly worked on his ftwk sections, they were more difficult and more complete (he used to not end the circle on the Cftwk)

Takahashis win in the short was a huge gift. I would have marked it:
1)Lambiel
2)Lysacek
3)Takahashi
4)Weir
If Weir had not fallen I would have also had him over Takahahi since his skating was much more beautiful and he tried the same jumps. Takahashis PCS were just
. Both Lambiel and Lysacek were undermarked for having a quad-triple combo and only one small mistake.

And Takahashi has "no artistry whatsoever"? Wow, sounds a bit like biased bashing. But of course, it seems like some of this thread is troll-central anyway.

Just because Takahashi's style is not your cup of tea dosn't mean that you should under value what he does. Choreography and performace are objective, even if people don't normally see it that way. Just because you don't like something dosn't mean you don't appreciate it. Even if you can't stand it.
By the way Hsuhs, THANKS A MILLION for the link to see the program, I missed KVDP but I got it right on time for the rest.
As for the FS, well I wanted Johnny to win but well it seems that's out of the question, problem is I want four out of the six to medal, and that can't be!

I haven't seen the programs yet, and I haven't read this entire thread so pardon me if I parrot someone else.
Wow! Takahashi got a huge score for having no quad. Can't wait to see that program. He must rock it hardcore.
Good for Stephane! He really needed that confidence boost.
Too bad about the combo for Evan. Otherwise he's right there with them. He is, however, still within striking distance.
Too bad also for Johnny. It sounds like he fought through the entire program though, so kudos for that. If he can pull it together and skate a clean FS, I will be happy with whatever placement he gets. I'd just like to see him skate a program that he can be proud of.

I don't agree.. Stephane's footwork involves the entire body and he is always leaning away from his centre of gravity doing those complex turns on deep edges. Not to take anything away from Takahashi, though, as I love both skaters, but I still think Stephane's the better of the two when it comes to utilizing the entire body and pushing the envlope of movement.

No he isnt. You dont lose 4 points for a 3-turn in a jump.

I didn't mean he'd be tied with them. I guess I should've made myself a little more clear. He's only 4.10 points behind Steph, though, so I still think he has a shot to move up the podium if he goes clean.

Evan should be happy with his skate. He beat johnny, that's a step up.
