I didn't notice, but hey, only the best for these 3! They need a whole closet to store all the puppy sweaters! And maybe Shoma has as many pajamas as he does Diesel shirts! (All presents from fans) Let's see, he has shark pajamas, sleep...sleep...sleep, plaid, HUGE pajamas that are 2 sizes too big, pandas, one fan gave him and 🌳matching pajamas, any others? (Sounds like a name the pajamas contest) He always received so many gifts at the PIW ice shows!
Didn’t know skaters could get a lot of clothes from fans. How would fans be able to guess what size he wears though? It’s not like that would be something he would just tell fans would it? Well he and the dogs are very liked so no surprise there with the amount of gifts given. Shoma does have a big heart. Shoma is awesome 😎

Size - little, except for one rather large @$$et. People just guess the size.

It’s not like all the clothes given by his fans always fit him, we’ve seen him in really baggy ones but he doesn’t seem to mind so any size will do 😂

I was just about to post that NowVoice
The more I read about that injury the more amazed I am by what he managed to do in the FS. And yes, we coud all see he was in the worst shape at MOI, I wish he had skipped it. Happy to hear it’s getting better now, sending all the healing energy to that ankle 🙏 I would love to go and see him at Worlds in Montpellier next year if the restrictions aren’t too bad🤞

Remember that one HUGE pair of pajamas where he looked like he was swimming in them? Very nice, but so big!

I just rewatched this K & C after Sholero. He almost looks like he could cry. I have a feeling he was really in pain. I wasn't sure whether to laugh or cry when Stepen told him you're not tired now, and I want to see more fire in the step sequence. Wait a minute Stepen! That's Crazy Fire you're talkin' to! 🔥

Thank you for the talk about Le Creuset. Fans really which brands, which items he likes/uses. Now, they add to the list, "Le Creuset". :laugh:I

I am not sure, giving presents to skaters is not so common? At PIW, you can give directly (if you have platinum seats in a front row..), and usually in shows, present boxes are set for each skater. I remember Patrick came to Japan for the shows after Sochi, he got a lot of presents, had to buy a big new suitcase. That was crazy, he said!

Thank you for sharing NowVoice. It's painful. He was a fighter never to have given up the layout in the situation. Surely he was so tired. At TV show he was watching his FS, and at final step sequence, he said shortly, 'really bad', his legs did not move. Originally he has such a stamina, so the pain must increase the fatigue.
Anyway, pray for his health, recovery.

The experience at this Nationals shall give him a confidence so much! Probably, after Beijing, he would say, 'I was not at all nervous. The Nationals was more difficult.':hap10:

You could see him wince his eyes before he sat down but Stephane was blah, blah, blah about hardly any miss, you're not tired, and so on. :scratch2:Guess he's just grateful he didn't get the 'fight for the triple toe' b/c there was no front end to do one, coach! Mentally he had to be tired going into the competition using all his energy thinking about his ankle. Then to hurt it again 30 minutes before going on would have me lose my focus but I'm not Shoma. He was brilliant under the circumstances and we hardly noticed the stsq at all.

I’m very late for the party.
I attended JNats men’s SP, ladies FS, and men’s FS.
I was exhausted but I really enjoyed the competition.

Arriba, you are right.
Shoma fans must enjoy the roller coasters.

I was vey very nervous to see Shoboe live because I knew he was injured.
My friend and I prayed especially when he jumped.
Shoma was a real fighter and I was proud of him so much.
He was divine beauty in Greek God costume.✨

Before Sholero I was more nervous.
When Yuma was waiting for the score, Shoma prepared and checked where to jump.
I noticed that he was not in good condition.😰
He tried some single jumps very carefully, and he looked a bit painful.
But he was really brave and he did it.
I was so moved and proud of him again.
Was he injured❓
He was so powerful and I forgot that.

I was afraid that the arena was not his home but away, because I had sad memory to see Saitama Worlds live.
The audience was very warm and gave him a big standing ovation.:cheer:

How can I thank Stephane.
I can’t imagine the competition without him.
Shoma and Stephane’s K&C was the best ever.
Stephane is just warm but push Shoma.
I wish Shoma to train in Switzerland, but it must be difficult because of this situation.

To yuumagical,
Yes, You are right.
Yuma was yuumagical.
I think Shoma was also shomagical.
Is it his new nickname⁉️

To Shoma,
Take rest, just relax with puppies and heal your feet.
Thank you very much for wonderful performances.

Too late but I love this.:love2:

^^^His skating is better than ever. When I see him in 2015 and see what he's doing now, there's no comparison. He has improved so much. I think his performing in so many ice shows has really helped him too. I love that Stephane is pushing him in so many different things.

Great report jerrymouse! Thank you! I was so worried when we didn't hear from you. I was afraid you might have had a Sho-heart attack!
🚑. Glad you survived and were able to clap and give standing ovations! Competitions are so tiring but so worth it. Yes, Shomajesty was Shomagical.

I'm glad you put Shoma's Winter from the Olympic Games, because for me its baroque counterpart from this season, Oboe Concerto, shows how much Shoma's skating, range, projection, musicality and performance quality has improved since back then, especially the range. His basic skating has always been good and very musical- it's something that caught my eye in the first place about him. There's something about his skates back in 2018 that felt very forcefully projected to the audience in my opinion, which is great because it really showcased his charisma as well as his natural aptitude for drama and intensity. But since the 2018 Olympics season finished he's tried different programs and worked with different choreographers and it really influences the way his skating grows and the way he performs.

Oboe, especially since I can compare it directly with Winter, is stunning. The Nationals performance isn't the best, but it showcases the quality of Shoma's edges and lines, it felt like a 30-second long running edge with how fast and smooth it goes by. I'm not saying Winter isn't good, but the Shoma that was skating it back in the 2018 Olympics needed to mature and expand his choreographic vocabulary to be able to pull Oboe off, which he did. Instead of forceful projection of Winter, Oboe is quiet control, precision in its lines without being too sharp and cutting. It's a skate that's done entirely within him, and he needs to be very good for it to radiate outwards and pull the audience in, which is a different (and in my opinion, more difficult) challenge than Winter presented.

Some of my favorite Oboes (one is an ice show performance):

Back in 2018 Olympics when I first saw him, I watched Shoma's Winter and listened to the commentary saying how he's an artistic, edgy skater. (I think it was Johnny Weir who said that). I love Shoma, but I thought what he showed on the ice back then was the bare minimum standard for a skater to be called artistic (of course I learned that it's not the case when I watch other skaters). But now, four years later and a repertoire of new programs under him, I can definitely say he's shown that he's above that level.

Thank you very much for your observations. It's painful to hear that Shoma was only doing single jumps while Yuma was waiting for his scores. I watched Fuji TV's warmup area camera before the free skate. Shoma was running and jumping and I thought he was all right, so I went to sleep. But then he hurt himself again...😭 I also hope he gets lots of rest!

I thought about the future of skating when I chose "yuumagical." I thought Yuma was magical when he was a junior and I still think so today. I cannot wait to see him in person. But maybe I need to change my username to "shomagical" because of how much I love Shoma. 😂

Honestly, I think Shoma is a fighter, not a magician. He fights and fights at maximum intensity until the very end of his performances. That's what makes him special. 💪🔥

Check, check, and check.
He's one of my favorite skaters and has been for years. That hasn't changed. Period.
