I am the only one who is so excited about Olympics? One after another news from Beijing. They are doing wonderfully in this situation.
Let us recall the schedule (Beijing time)

2/4
Team Event
M Short Program
Ice Dance Rhythm Dance
Pairs Short Program

09:55-14:55

2/6
Team Event
W Short Program
M Free Skating
09:30-12:40

2/8
Figure Skating
M Short Program
09:15-13:30

2/10
M Free Skating
09:30-13:40

2/20
Gala Exhibition
12:00-14:30

This time, it is very tough, early in the morning (considering PCR test, doping test, early practice, at which time skaters should get up?).

My prediction is Men's Team free is third, Yuma considering the schedule. So team SP is Shoma or Yuzu.

Yeah, Men's event right after team event is quite hard. But considering the situation, to finish the event earlier is better, I think. The stress of every day test, being afraid of withdrawal is so much.

And what make me pleased is one-day interval between SP and FP. At Sochi, Pyongchang... It has been pointed out that these days highly technical Men's field, succeeding schedule is too tight. And one-day interval is the same as Nationals 2021.

Thanks for the video! Seeing Shoma and Yuma doing the Macarena is priceless. 😁
Yees!
And he seems to be in a good shape mentally and physically. He seems more confident. He has such a face now.
And there is almost none of time difference, and he can keep adjustment at Chukyo rink right before the competition.
I feel he will get the podium at Olympics.

Believe me you’re not the only one excited for the Olympics. It will be an intense battle for the podium. I fully believe that Shoma and Yuzuru will make it.

Alright Shoma fans here is a question. If you had to pick just one thing you like about Shoma what would it be and why? For me it’s that he is always himself no matter what both on and off the ice. I respect him and support him always.
i like how he seems familiar, like a brother or a friend. idk it could probably be somewhat related to what you said—that he seems like he’s always himself on or off ice. i don’t know him irl (obviously) but it feels like he’s shown me multiple facets of him already. it’s like i can see myself in him (me with piano, him with skating), except i feel like i am the much more inferior version of him. his skating makes me feel familiar and not familiar with him both at the same time (idk if this makes sense but it does for me lol) it honestly just tugs at my heartstrings the way no else is capable of doing.

i’ve probably shed more tears (of joy, sadness, anxiousness, etc.) because of him than i would ever allow a guy to, but i won’t trade all those feelings for the world.

Oh man, just the one? So difficult.

His musicality. It's so unique, I love how he's seemingly able to let the music speak through the entirety of his skating, not just the obvious accent here and there. It's in his every stroke, every simple turn. It's like he lets himself be a vessel for the music to be listened to. They seem like equal partners, him making the music sound bigger, better, more impressive and the music highlighting his skating in return. It feels like it's not just him using the music as the tool to score points and win medals.

Related to musicality, I also find his approach to his skating music interesting- he always lets his choreographer (can also be his coach) choose or provide him with selections for him to choose, and he doesn't really look up the background/story/meaning/title/lyrics of the music. So his musicality doesn't really translate to him skating the music based on the way he interpret the story/background of the music, but he just interprets the music, as is. I like the way it translates on the ice a lot.

Only one is difficult! For me, it's uniqueness.
No one can imitate his expression. I am just attracted by his performance.
When I watched him live, when he was junior, at that time he could 3rd at Nationals, and he was like, !!! so fast like a cannon ball and he has a style.

I agree with rabidline. If I were to choose only one thing it would be the thing that made me his fan in the first place, the reason why I’m here - his musicality.

Later I discovered that off the ice he is this relatable, humble, hard working guy and, I would say, someone genuine and kind to his fans and that was the cherry on top, it made me love following him even more

I'm going to say the quality that made me a fan of Shoma's: his intense fighting spirit. I love how he almost always attacks everything with that certain determination. Even when he skates to very gentle music, there's always that burning intensity there in the way in which he performs (and I really adore the contrast this presents when Shoma skates to gentle music). He just doesn't give up, no matter what happens. Such determination is extremely admirable in my opinion. I had to experience it in person in order for me to really understand it, but once I saw Shoma's fighting spirit for myself, I knew I had to become his fan...

I think I know what you mean by saying this, though my own feelings about Shoma differ. He seems like a son to me, even though I'm too young to be his mother. Normally I don't feel maternal about other people, but I just want to protect him and see him grow up and hide some vegetables in his food... 😂

I'm thinking that the sense of familiarity relates to how honest and open he is about himself. If someone's easy to understand, then it's easier to find things about them that one can relate to. I tend to be an honest person myself and I see the way Shoma thinks as being similar to my own way of thinking and perceiving the world.
