What's so sad about this situation is the fact that the skaters are doing LITERALLY EVERYTHING they can to protect themselves. It's the people who are around them not wearing masks or being vaccinated that could potentially ruin an Olympic dream. Apparently there are a lot of people in the hotel not wearing masks, and I'm sure there were people on the skaters' flights who weren't vaccinated. Nationals can go off smoothly, Japan's went off without a hitch. But they have a very high vaccination rate, closed the borders to prevent the spread of omicron, and everyone was wearing masks. I hope all the skaters can stay safe and no one else gets sick.

Yeah I agree... sorry to keep going on about this as it's .... but I'm just so sad for the skaters and angry that USFS didn't foresee this. I read that the Orleans in Vegas is apparently available. They moved Nats from San Jose last year to Vegas to protect them and they know the bubble works in Vegas so why didn't they move it this year? Why take the chance in Nashville of all places? And they don't even test every day which is insane (there must be a lot of close contacts by now). Alright, rant over. Back to Jason.

I am not going to Nationals now. I’ve had 2 flights cancel from the DC area due to weather. I’m so disappointed, but with what’s going on there it is probably for the best. I’ll continue watching on Peacock. Go Jason!!!

There may be some concern about his luggage. I don't have details, but the whereabouts of his costumes might be a question that needs to be answered. Off to see what I can find out. Sigh... I guess he didn't go to Chicago first.

Wow I wonder when they left? Based on his ETA, he will miss official practice tomorrow morning.

It’s admirable he’s double masking but I really hope someone tells him to wear the N95 under the other mask. The way he’s got it in kind of defeats the purpose of double masking.

My best guess, direct Air Canada flight out of Toronto cancelled. Rerouted to connect in Atlanta and missed the connection. I hope they have no problems on Atlanta to Nashville Flight tomorrow morning.

Phil Hersh tweeted that Jason had planned to fly from Toronto to Nashville via NYC but was currently flying from NYC to Atlanta and hoped to be able to make it to Nashville tomorrow. I’m guessing it was the flight to Nashville that was canceled.

At least it’s a drivable distance from Atlanta to Nashville… IF the roads are clear, and IF they can find a car. Seems like there’s always something with him. Wasn’t there a snowstorm in Boston for 2014 Nationals and he almost didn’t make it?

Does anyone know how much snow they got in Nashville that caused all these problems? There is no snow in NYC (we have about two inches right now, and we’re 80 miles east (ETA: make that west, I’m not in the Atlantic Ocean ) of NYC, but that was all in the past three hours)

I just hope he's got his skates - it took Keegan 30!! hours to get from Alaska to Ontario for Canadian Nats, and his skates have been lost. He has found a pair of stock skates that are probably not appropriate for his level and is breaking them in on practice. It's terrifying.

Missing costumes can be dealt with but the skates are most important.

I'm just glad he has Tracy with him!

Well, worst come to worst, perhaps Marla can get the old costumes to him; and we know those are lucky for him.

Jason always misses first practice, so hopefully this will not throw him too much.

To add to that. They are ladies skates. While a guy in white skates is no issue of course, My fear is that those things were not designed to withstand the landings of a Keagan sized body landing a quad.

I am fearing an ugly blow out.

Jason might be able to squeeze in a late practice today if they keep the practice rink open to skaters for travel issues. Poor Keegan and Jason, this has to be terrifying and stressful.

I think this type of stress Jason can handle. If anything he is thinking about travel stress rather than Olympic stress, might not be the worst thing.

And honestly, the later he gets there, the safer he probably is. I sadly think we will see another positive before this is over.
