What's so sad about this situation is the fact that the skaters are doing LITERALLY EVERYTHING they can to protect themselves. It's the people who are around them not wearing masks or being vaccinated that could potentially ruin an Olympic dream. Apparently there are a lot of people in the hotel not wearing masks, and I'm sure there were people on the skaters' flights who weren't vaccinated. Nationals can go off smoothly, Japan's went off without a hitch. But they have a very high vaccination rate, closed the borders to prevent the spread of omicron, and everyone was wearing masks. I hope all the skaters can stay safe and no one else gets sick.
.... but I'm just so sad for the skaters and angry that USFS didn't foresee this. I read that the Orleans in Vegas is apparently available. They moved Nats from San Jose last year to Vegas to protect them and they know the bubble works in Vegas so why didn't they move it this year? Why take the chance in Nashville of all places? And they don't even test every day which is insane (there must be a lot of close contacts by now). Alright, rant over. Back to Jason.
) of NYC, but that was all in the past three hours)
I’ve done that, along with probably a gazillion other people, but it’s relatively close to Nashville.
