2022 Olympics Team Event Day1: Pairs Short Program

Personally, I think it was a mistake to choose Alexa and Brandon for the Pairs event. I don’t trust them and think they should have gone with the US National Champions instead. They skated really well at their Nationals. I’m Rooting for JPN! I think they can come third at this portion of the event. I love this couple. I’m hoping they skate clean and surprise and dazzle the judges. Meagan has done wonders with this team and I hope they don’t get too nervous.

Also, ITA has struggled all season long. So, hopefully, they have a good skate. They have a chance to place in the top 5 with a good result here.

These next two groups could majorly define the finals for a bunch of teams
I hope for the USA that they chose correctly , CG\L do feel more ready and consistent at this point,
And they didn't just get through Covid like K\F so hopefully the US federation know what they're doing,
Mike and Kirsten really need to dig deep if they want their team in the finals,
Russia would want to win this to close the gap with the US,
And S\H would want to position themselves as winners over the Russian World champions,
Japan are gonna want to pass Italy in the scoring, And Italy wouldn't wanna let them.

Pairs and Women are definitely the biggest question marks for the US. They could place anywhere from 3rd to 7th in those disciplines. The SBS jumps will be such a nail biter! I don’t remember the last time I saw Brandon perform a clean 3toe in the SP.
