2022 Olympics Team Event Day1: Pairs Short Program

They were definitely underscored a bit, However, the Americans and Japanese were a lot cleaner and their elements were significantly better. Things like death spirals, lifts, and spins were of higher quality.

I always knew the pairs would be the most exciting. There are the top two teams and then so many teams with the quality to get good scores but some inconsistency. Pairs is always so fun!

Higher but not 10 points total higher is my point. Just my opinion, Georgia team lift was really good. And twist also good. Spin was a little off so yes they should be behind them. Idk about levels I know that matters.
But 10 points is crazy they screw over Georgia

To be fair Eurosport also noticed slight issues with all of those elements I think

Surprised me when they got a season's best
Yup I can't remember what Belinda said but she explained on CBC why they only got a level 2 twist. But it is a bit sus that the Americans got full levels (it didn't quite look like Brandon dropped his hands to his hips enough, but they gave it to em).

I know China can't skip team event for obvious reasons, but I would not have skated Sui and Han considering that there is no real chance of a medal.

If they come in second or lower it sets the stage for the other event.
Kind of, but like, if it will here, it would anyway in indvidual event. S/H need to get all levels, no sloppy skating, or one of Russian teams, or all of them will do better.

Pretty good outing for Kirsten and Mike, especially considering their struggles this season - Well done! :) They definitely finished strongly. I love their costumes too.
