I cannot believe this is happening. A few hours ago I was almost 100% certain that she’d be a double Olympic champion. Now she’s being vilified. At 15 there is literally no way this could be her fault. Even if, by some miracle they keep the team medal her reputation is ruined and the chances for individual gold are extremely low. For something a 15 year old could never, possibly have done on her own.

what angers me more is that russias figure skating scene is already pointing the finger at kamila giving her the fault , i am sorry but she is an underaged child! if someone is to blame its the adults which means eteri and co. and i am sorry but we all know that eteri will do everything to put the blame everywhere but herself

So sad about the whole Kamila situation, so angry that ISU could have prevented this ball of gossip if they had given a concise statement from the start. Now everyone rejoices in saying that TT wins with cheats, but if it's fake or a mistake the damage is already done. I hope that Anna and Sasha can do their best at their event, and I hope that Kami can come out clean from this scandal. Everything has come to such a degree that there are people who are commenting that they give Osmond the 2018 medal.

I think he was actually praising Evgenia by saying that someone's favorites (whoever that may be) still can't do today what Evgenia was doing 6 years ago. In no way am I endorsing the rest of the post, some of which I strongly disagree with.
I don't think you disagree with the part of my post in which I urged to wait for official information.

There have been so many inconsistent reports already (i.e. it was a pairs skater then it was Kamila, it wasn't a PED but now it is, etc.) that I don't think we can have a meaningful discussion until the facts are laid out. It does look like that the failed test was from an out-of-competition sample in December, so I'm not sure to what extent that impacts the Olympic results (especially if the out-of-competition sample contained a non performance-enhancing substance).

Yeah, agreed. There's so much mixed info coming out and I'm not ready to get invested in it until it's been officially confirmed what the hell happened.

All I'll say is it's not looking good and just puts another huge damper on an underwhelming skating season. I feel for Kamila, especially if turns out to be true because we know Eteri will throw her to the wolves to save her own skin.

Also hard to believe that if RusFed knew or did, they would put her in the team event? In case the information was real, I think it was accidental, how Russia would allow it if it is under world scrutiny, it is all very confusing.
There is even talk of contamination of her samples, which can be even makeup, food, cleaning products, what a drama.

Haha. The overreactions are to be expected.
Getting beaten like a drum for years on end does frustrate people.

Russian ladies shouldn’t even bother any more.

Let them go do domestic events only so we can enjoy them competing against each other weekly, and let everyone else compete internationally with lower technical skating from the last century.

What are you wondering about, gentlemen? Did you expect anything else from the tanned dog sitter? Not me. And I pray to God that Sasha wasn't also given illicit substances during her convalescence.

Sport-Express published a refutation of the information about the removal of figure skater Kamila Valieva from the personal tournament of the 2022 Olympic Games due to a positive doping test.

“The information published by SE about the deprivation of the Russian national team of gold medals in the team figure skaters tournament and the removal of Kamila Valieva from individual competitions is not confirmed.

A decision on the case of Valieva, who is suspected of violating anti-doping rules, has not yet been made.

A 15-year-old athlete can still be found not guilty in an incident with a positive test for the cardiac drug trimetazidine.

At the moment, lawyers from the Russian Olympic Committee and the IOC are working on this issue. If Valieva's innocence is ultimately proven, the Russian team will retain the gold medals of the team tournament.

An official IOC statement on the subject is expected on Thursday at 1300 Beijing time.

The editors of SE apologize to the athlete and readers for unverified information, ”the publication says.

Figure skating is becoming too heartbreaking. Rika Kihira being injured, Usacheva, Aliona missing Nationals, then around November Yuzu pulling out and possibly being injured, GPF cancelled, all of Mishin's group having covid problems. That was enough for me to decide to keep my distance from figure skating for a while. And now Kolyada missing out on the Olympics, Ilia Malinin decision, Zhou positive test, Yuzu SP ice, and Valieva the poor girl it's the worst. I'm not going to speculate but all I know is none of this is her fault. It's just too much.

Edit: Bradie Tennell too, cannot forget about her.

Fingers crossed 🤞
I didn’t expect so much drama🙏

Sad situation all around, if Valieva is allowed to compete and manages to win, the victory will be questioned; if she is not and Shcherbakova or Trusova win likewise be considered tainted as Russia will say the best girl was taken out and the rest of the world will speculate they dope as well and have just managed to not get caught - even though they undergo a multitude of independent tests over the years.
