ITA but with Worlds coming up the three spots are in trouble,
The US is not keeping three spots barring a massive meltdown from several skaters (which is what happened last year to get the three spots in the first place). The top US ladies most likely can't beat the top 3 Russians or the top 2 Japanese ladies. The best any US skater can realistically achieve is 6th place, and keeping three spots requires the second skater to finish in 7th, and that's just unrealistic. There will be two US ladies heading to Worlds next year, and I think it's fair that way when comparing the depth of US ladies to Russia, Japan, or Korea.

How about Bradie? Is she retiring? Bradie + Alysa combo is the best shot for World Championship.

Yes, I hope Karen doesn't go to Worlds---she underperformed in both the Team and Individual events. Mariah and Alysa should go, but who is first alternate? I believe it is Lindsay Thorngren, and as a Senior newbie, she can't help save those 3 spots.
I believe Lindsay was the first alternate for Worlds, so this would probably be the team if Karen doesn't go.

Bradie can’t be added to the team at this point.
Amber is the 1st alternate for Worlds, Lindsey 2nd - the inverse of their positioning for Beijing.

Retaining three spots will be contingent upon Mariah and Alysa. They finished 7th and 8th in the FS today so a cumulative 6th and 7th is within the realm of possibility if they enjoy a bit of luck and/or a few retirements.

Congratulations to our US women, they all performed wonderfully. Although I feel much empathy for Karen Chen, skating four programs when she is not known for consistency was bound to not result in the strongest results. Nevertheless, Chen fought through every element and for that I am proud.

Congratulations, especially, to Alysa Liu who not only placed the highest (7th or 6th) but earned the highest combined total score of ANY American woman in the history of the Olympics. Liu also set an American Olympic record with the score of 139 points in the Free Skate. Mariah Bell also showed strength and fight throughout, allowing her to move from 11th to 10th place overall and 8th in the Free Skate.

Congratulations.

It would be great opportunity for Lindsay. She has lots of potential. It's time for US figure skating to invest on young kids (Isabeau, Lindsay, llia, Alysa).

I have to admit, it's still bittersweet knowing that while she performed well at the Olympics, she deserved to be an Olympic medalist based on how far ahead she was over the other Americans this season. I could never forgive the USFSA for that snub if I were her.

Alysa didn’t even have the highest GP score among the Americans this season.

Alysa just talks about Bell is her friend (a bit surprised). So, I'm glad that these two good friends go to World championship together.

Besides Bell, Alysa also mentions Wakaba, Leona, Young You, and Yelim are her friends.

Alysa and Mariah were shafted in my mind, no doubt. Either had a stronger case for the team event to me, but nobody asked me, of course. But Karen has a team medal and should consider that a success.

Frankly, I have never been hugely invested in the number of spots. I honestly think two is more reflective of where the US women are right now anyway. If they retain three, though, awesome!

Sounds like she can hold her head up high then. My hunch about her being the best choice for the team event proved to be correct…

Not much else for me to say. Like in Korea, I’m indifferent whether the US ladies keep 3 spots or not…
