2025-26 US Women's Figure Skating

Congrats to all sectional to make to nationals.
It will be interesting to see how Sophia von Felton , Emily does and score at national. They could contend for podium spots depending on how favorite skate.
They score well at sectionals and Sophia did decent at her jgp events.

Sophia tried a quad and a 3axel.

So, I'm thinking about the Olympic team event. Looking at Amber's scores here in Finlandia, her sp isn't that much higher than what Aysa/Isabeau have gotten this season, and her fs score is the same as what Isabeau got in Canada and Alysa in China. If Amber doesn't win nats, I could see a scenario where, assuming they split the women's event, Isabeau does the short and Alysa the long or vice versa. They have both repeatedly proven themselves to have nerves of steel and that they're capable of delivering under pressure, but the same cannot be said for Amber.

Yeah, I was thinking along the same lines. In big events, Amber has still shown nerves, and I think the team medal potentially being on her shoulders would be too much for her. But if she wants to do the team event I can't imagine they would tell her no. Alysa in the short and Isabeau in the free would work very well. But then again its actually so nice that we have 3 american ladies that could easily score 70+ in the short and 130+ in the free to help the team win gold. :)

Any streams?

Any streams?
Tallinn has a paid stream for $30 for full comp and Santa Claus stream is $47 for full comp :frown: I looked at both and leaning towards purchasing Tallinn I guess since its cheaper but I really want to see Erica Machida in her first international... so maybe i'll splurge on both or be smart with my money and do none..

i'm happy Emilia is getting some more international assignments, she was SO impressive at Mids. her jumps are ginormous in person with hang time on her triples before she lands and she received no q's or carrots at all. if she's clean at nationals i think she can place top 6, maybe even higher if others don't do well.

i DESPERATELY wish Gasparatto would work on her PCS. she and Emilia can JUMP and she is soooooo gifted in that area, but the rest of her skating is so far behind. i'm not sure if she's working with anyone on that area but there sadly hasn't been much improvement over the last couple years. she has so much potential that she hasn't been able to tap into yet, and won't unless she improves her interpretation and skating skills.

Santa Claus Cup:
For the senior women the only one of the three NOT going to nationals had the best result coming in 2nd (Kendall Erne). Ava Ziegler and Erica Machida had pretty terrible outings and will be hoping to rebound by Nationals. I'm happy USFSA is not giving up on Ava and letting her have a multitude of international competitions.
For the junior women it was a USA sweep with Annika 1st, Jessica 2nd, and Angela 3rd. Jasmine Clare had a bad outing and only scored 101 total. (the top 3 will be at nationals, Jasmine did not qualify)

Advanced novice had Tera in 2nd and Grace in 3rd. Tera was close to winning by .07:clap:

3A practice clip from Alysa:

Wow 😮 Alysa knows what she is doing.

If Alysa brings this 3A back to both SP and FP, her steady competitive nerves and loop combo may make her technically too strong to contend with at the Olympic Games!! 👏

(She is right now winning without the 3A. But, I think she knows from GPF that Mone, Kaori and Ami could have beaten her with clean skates. The 3A kind of puts everything on her court and is good to have in case she needs to pull it out, for the Olympic Games)
