Anna Shcherbakova

Anna had a longer interview with Olga Ermolina and Tatjana Flade for FsRussia.ru, and one of Anna's fansites team.shcherbakova has posted the full translation in five parts. I'm posting part 1 here, but please check out team.shcherbakova for the full interview!

The interview is remarkable as always, in how well reflected and spoken Anna is. It seems like the full weight of what has happened is still dawning on her, but she is just enjoying it all.

Anna is already one of the GOATS of ladies figure skating. I hoe she has other chances in the future to do great things at big competitions.
She was really coming into her own at the olympics and may have even beaten KV without the controversy.

I guess we will see Anna at some of the TT shows this offseason. Her art is amazing.

It is a good one isn't it? I wanted to do something to honor Captain clutch who never causes a fuss or a disturbance at TT and Anna remains calm amid the storm.

She's not even 18 yet I hope we get to see her competitively for more years. But with the way Russian sports are being canceled I have no idea when Anna could skate competitively again internationally. I suppose the Russian Federation could figure out their own Grand prix season of Challengers or whatever besides the Russian cup. But that's just not the same as going to Europeans or going to Worlds or going to an Olympics.

It's certainly been a pleasure to watch Anna grow as an athlete and a performer the last couple years. Her record is absolutely remarkable considering the competition she has worldwide and from her own country and from her own rink.

"Captain Clutch" is a great nickname for Anna.
