Senior Ladies SP

so zhang is behind bebe? i thought zhang was in 6th?

Somewhere along the line, don't know when, they flipped. IceNetwork is saying Zhang is in 6th and Bebe in 7th. But I recall after Bebe skated she was ahead. Might have been a scoring error?

a while after zhang skated... they ajusted her score or somthing and she moved up a spot or two

I would like to see wager do 3loop 3loop combo in the short and 3flip as her solo so that she doesn't get the lutz GOE

wow, kimmie 13 points off the lead. pretty impossible to make that up. the most she can hope for is a medal, but even without one, she will make the world team. bebe might even get a spot if the standings stay the same(more or less).

Right now on the Ice Network home page it under a picture of Caroline it says " Caroline Zhang was dissapointed in her sixth place finish after the short program. So which is it? Will she or won't she be in the final group?

Gold is between Mirai and Ashley. I can't choose because I've never seen Mirai skate before in senior level competition, so I have no idea how she will hold up when pressure is on. Kimmie could possibly sneak in for a bronze.

What a surprising competition!

It might not matter if Zhang is in 6 or 7. Correct me if I am wrong, but aren't they splitting into two large groups, one earlier and one later group (now that we have more coverage due to writer's strike).

Hence, the top ten will be skating in the night shift. I suppose they'll split that into 2 smaller groups of 5. So atleast she's in the "night" group.

Actually I've seen Bebe whip off a number of triple triples...in practice. I would love to see, just once, Bebe do a perfect program. Just once.

Kimmie was wonderful the year she won Worlds. But since then, her skating has become sluggish and labored-possibly due to growth-who knows. Even her jumps look strained and difficult-and the 'toe axel' is a bit difficult to watch at this level. As far as the quality of skating, YuNa and Mao are in a league of their own, and of this years crop of skaters, I can only see Nagasu giving any challange in the future.

Strange SP, indeed.

Happy for Mirai, but sad for Kimmie and Caroline. I'll say Caroline still has a chance to get a medal if she skates great for LP, and others give some helps.
