Alena Kostornaia

wow...

Were you forced to weigh yourself?

- There was a moment when they weighed. Do it yourself in the morning first. Then, before the morning workout, the coaches weigh you, watch your weight so that you don’t go on the ice and break your legs. You have to dose the load. Then lunch, after which you watch it yourself again, because you understand that before the next workout there will be a weigh-in again. If you add more than a certain amount there, they will give you straight on the fifth number, they will say: “How can you be so negligent about yourself, your health, a sport? In fact, your legs feed you, and you, with your overweight, will go to break them. The only thing is, with a weight of 400 grams, you won’t break your legs. And what is a dinner of 400 grams anyway? A glass of water is already 250. Then you still weigh yourself after the second workout to see how much you can eat for dinner.

Another long interview with Aliona by Andrey and Pavel (There are sentences which don't make sense by the automatic translation, so I guess we'll need some help from Alex...) :)

This is the YouTube interview:

translation:

- Alena, have you already received 100 thousand rubles on the account for the interview?
*Note
from sport-express:
(One of the leaders of the sports TV channel at April spread the information that the PR manager Kostornoy requires 100 thousand rubles for an interview.)

- Of course! Just heard the message on the phone. You can start.

-How long have you had this habit of asking for money for interviews?

- There are moments when I am categorically against any comments and interviews, and when people do not understand that they are being refused in a polite manner, and they begin to press on me, then I use all methods to reach them. If it doesn't work out, there will be disagreements.

- You often change your image, hairstyle. Why?

- It's interesting for myself - to see what happens if I do something differently. I can try a new style in clothes, the same with hair. I'm curious to see from the outside how I will look. I always have a win-win initial option - blond hair. But sometimes it gets boring - many people have a blond hair. And when you come with a huge red head, you are radically different and add colors to life. I love being different. Non-standard solution of issues, non-standard appearance.

- Do you like how you look now?

-I always like the way I look.

- Do you agree with this wording - "Kostornaya is the main riot girl of the country"?

-I am still far from such a title, we have much more cheerful characters in our country. But in general, why not? If I am not afraid to take risks and independent of the opinions of others.

- Let's rebel in figure skating. Is there anything about him that annoys you?

-No, not really. It's a sport, and it's not me who writes the rules. But I would add more theatricality, which is forbidden. It's not about glitter on the eyes, no. For example, you cannot use props, the chairs are the same, only in the gala. You can also start skating right from the edge of rink only in the gala. Such trifles would improve the development of figure skating. They promised to make an artistic program, where there will be only two jumps and a lot of choreography. Something they think, they think, but still have not done it. It would be very interesting.

- If you are a riot girl, then Anya Shcherbakova has a crystal clear reputation. There is never any information in the media about who she meet, about some of her conflicts. And by the way, they even say about her that she never utters obscene words. I know that you and her are very good friends. Tell me, is this true, or is she a different person in non-public life?

- I will not reveal all the secrets of Anya, she herself will someday do it. I will say that in the circle of close friends, any person behaves a little differently. That is, in the presence of a television camera, people feel differently. But how he behaves differently is another question, and I will not disclose it.

- Who else are you friends with in the world of figure skating?

- I communicate with many, but my closest friends are Anya Shcherbakova, Dasha Usacheva, I am very good friends with Mark Kondratyuk, Arthur Danielyan, Karolina Kogan. I can count my close friends on my fingers. Eight or nine people, no more.

-In soccer, the main rebel is Artem Dzyuba, and for several years a lot of hatred has been pouring on him from the fans. Do you think this is fair?

-I, as a person who knows something about soccer only for the last three days, cannot say for sure. But I think that if the behavior causes more hate than positive feedback, something really went wrong at some point, and for Dziuba it is worth noting. It’s not just that you were praised, and then negativity pours from everywhere. People are not stupid either, they will not just do it. Although this also happens. Well, five hundred, well, a thousand people will write for fun, but all the rest - they are not idiots. And to say whether a bad attitude is fair or not - I repeat, you need to be well versed in the topic.

- In soccer, you are now a fan of Lokomotiv. Why this team?

-To be honest, I never liked football before. When I come to cheer for my brother, and he is playing, they will hit me in the face with a ball, then my nose will bleed, and it will twist ...

— What is this story?

- This is when I came to my brother for a match, cheered for him once, and then I no longer attended these games.

-What team does he play for?

- He plays football just to be healthy, he is not going to make a career in sports, the team, it seems, is called "Lightning".

- And so you came to cheer for your brother, and ...

-I came to cheer for my brother, the ball flew into my face with such force - right in the bridge of my nose! I immediately got stars in my eyes. I didn't come to games anymore. And he recently brought me [to the Lokomotiv match] - and I liked it. The game was interesting for me.

- How old is your brother?

- We have a difference of five years, he will soon be June 13, 8. He goes to school and plays soccer.

-What grade is he in?

- He'll move on now... You need to count... In the eighth grade. Or seventh? Yes, on the seventh. I don't know, I stopped keeping track of what grade my brother was in, but while I lived at home, I heard his regular wars [with Mom] about homework not done, or done but not right. Or did one thing and needed another. I also knew about this learning process at the time, but now I have my own...

— Where do you live now?

-Now I live alone, apart from my parents.

- Do you rent an apartment?

-Not.

- Did you buy an apartment?

-Not.

-What then?

- Dad had a free apartment, and he kindly agreed that I lived there.

- Who, in your opinion, is the most beautiful Russian soccer player?

— Russian? It's hard for me to say about the Russian soccer player. In Lokomotiv I like Danya Khudyakov and Mark Mampassi.
------------------------------------------------------------------------------
- And who do you like the most in terms of style of play?

-It's difficult because I don't understand this game well. But I heard the name of Isidore many times. Well, since everyone is talking about him and the person scores a lot of goals, it means that he is cool!

*Note: This question and this answer are not in the video, only in the printed version.

part 2:

-What do you like most about figure skating?

- I like it not as a sport, but as an opportunity to realize myself, to show my personality through programs, as an art. And, of course, most of all I love competition.

-Is it time to announce programs for next season yet?

-No, usually this is done at the training camp, when the main productions begin. So that no one repeats the music. Because sometimes you come to competitions, and there 20 people skate with the same “East”, then 20 people skate the same “classic” in one treatment, and you sit and think: “Guys, what is this?”

- Did you have something similar?

-We used to have a musical composition that was repeated, but there was a different processing. Someone used this composition at the beginning of the competition, and the other - at the end.

-And how long ago was that?

- A very long time ago ... Probably, it was during the Grand Prix for juniors, about five years ago.

-So you haven't experienced anything like this lately?

- Not. But wait, it was. Sasha Trusova and Dasha Usacheva had the same music. It was Romeo and Juliet. Sasha showed the “evil fate”, and Dasha showed exactly Juliet, but the music was exactly the same.

-Did they discuss it among themselves?

-I don't know whose idea it was. Whether they specifically tried to do it or not, I can’t say. But it's a little weird.

- Let's get back to your programs - maybe you could at least hint what it could be?

- The short program is something fiery and bright. And the free program is my favorite, “snotty” motives. I mean, I'm telling a serious story.

- Why are "snotty" motives your favorite?

-Because there are two different characters. One is so bright, bold and sharp. The second is radically different, absolutely everything is different. That's why I say that I like it - I love the contrast.

-What is your favorite program of your entire career?

-In fact, there will be a lot of them. This is "My Way", "Twilight" I really liked. Short under Vivaldi. Billie Eilish - I just really, really love. It’s easier to count programs that I didn’t like less, but rather got bored from time to time.

- Which for example?

- I performed for the second year in a row with the Angel program, and it was insanely hard, despite the fact that it looked beautiful. For the second year in a row, the same thing, there was no such euphoria as before. “Stella”, my first program at the headquarters of Eteri Georgievna, I didn’t understand it either. Here is this program - and it's normal, and no more emotions from this. And everyone else takes a piece of my soul from me, this is mine. I love it when, for example, during performances they tell me what hands should be. And the rest I do myself, as I like. I put a part of myself into this image, staging. And it turns out much better than if I just repeat.

- Do other skaters have programs that you like?

— Yes, there are. I like more than half of Dasha Usacheva's programs. With her they are always so sensual, and the songs are so good, and the whole composition is used. And, of course, I really like Anya Shcherbakova's "Perfumer" and "Master and Margarita". A piece from Beethoven yet. Also Yuzuru Hanyu, Carolina Costner. There is no favorite program, they all seem to be masterpieces. Elena Radionova, I grew up on her programs. Therefore, when comparing records where we skate the same thing, the movements are extremely similar. She was one of my idols, I constantly tried to copy her until I found my own style.

— How and when did the idea to work with Elena Buyanova come about?

- When I was sitting with a broken arm, I was already practically starting training on ice ...

- And with what fracture, with the first or with the second?

-With the first. It seems to have recovered, perhaps the last week remained. I realized that, probably, there is no point in continuing cooperation (with Eteri Tutberidze). And the coaches also repeatedly said that it was all over. The Olympic season is over. Four years to pull each other - what's the point? And I realized for myself that, most likely, I will move on. Then I went on the ice, we met with the coaches, they told me about the same thing. And we decided that, probably, everything should be stopped. And that I will go to try out to Elena Germanovna.

- Is it true that before working with Tutberidze, you were thinking about transition to the CSKA school?

- I was then very small, even before the first transition to Tutberidze, long before that. I was 10 years old, and I auditioned for Inna Germanovna Goncharenko. But adult athletes trained there, and there was simply no time left for me. They told me: "Grow up - come." Then, at the competitions, I got into the same warm-up with the girls of Eteri Georgievna, and somehow everything spun in that direction.

- Have you consulted with any of the athletes about the transition to Buyanova?

- Of course. Everyone in the team knew about it, and I just asked for opinions - where, how and what, why. Up to the schedule. Thinking through everything in advance to avoid any mistakes.

-How did the transition happen?

- Immediately after we broke up with Eteri Georgievna, I called Alexander Kogan (general director of the federation), explained the situation. Anyway, I made a decision. It was on Saturday, he asked to take a break until Monday. On Monday, I was sitting in a hair salon, they called me, asked me to dial Elena Germanovna. Listen to what she has to say. Elena Germanovna already knew at that moment that I would call her. We talked to her, and after a week and a half I went on the ice.

- What was the first emotion when you started working with Buyanova?

-She is a very pleasant person to deal with. At the same time very demanding. There is no one that licks me from all sides. This has never happened, and there are no such thoughts close. If somewhere specifically my fault, then I get a very definite punishment for it. Not everything is forgiven. And I know it's not the worst thing I could get. It was said to me clearly: “Alena, don’t piss me off. I am now so kind and fluffy. I then think to myself: “Okay, if she is kind, then what will happen when she is unkind?” But it's all fixable, because it's easier not to make mistakes. But there are force majeure, and somewhere I'm stupid. But no one will find fault with me and scold me for nothing.

- What are the main differences between Buyanova and Tutberidze and Plushenko?

-They are all very different in how they communicate and approach to the training process. And focusing on athletes of a certain age category.

- You said that Buyanova is very demanding. Is it really more demanding than Eteri Georgievna?

- Any coach is demanding of his athlete if he (or she) wants to get a result. And if Eteri Georgievna is a charismatic woman, at some point she starts to explode, and this moment comes very quickly, there is a fine line when a person literally walks along a thread, rubs along a blade, then Elena Germanovna will endure. I don't know how much we reworked the same pose with her. It seems that we stood with her for an hour and a half and did it. I have already managed to get tired a hundred times, be reborn like a phoenix and get tired again. And Elena Germanovna all this time monotonously tried to explain to me what they want from me. And it's not like I did something wrong on purpose. I really did not fully understand what she wanted from me at that moment. And Eteri Georgievna at that moment would probably have exploded three times for sure. About the fact that I can not do the most simple, basic movements. Elena Germanovna calmly explained everything. Then, at some point, I stood up like a doll, so that she would move me herself, show me. But nothing, without shouting everything was decided. Everything is fine.

-What do you think is your ideal coach?

-There is no ideal coach. Elena Germanovna suits me very well, I realized this almost immediately when I joined the group. The concept of "ideal coach" - it does not exist. We are all human and we all have our flaws. It does not happen that there are only positive qualities. Yes, and the same exactingness - after all, it can be understood in different ways. You can tell what a demanding person. And on another day, they just shout at you like that.

- It was so?

- Naturally.

-Is it true that as a child you had complete indifference to figure skating?

-There was hatred. Absolute indifference.

-How did love come about?

- At competitions. Initially, dad sometimes came to competitions. It was very rare, maybe two or three times. But I was still very inspired by it. And they also threw soft toys, deer, seals at me, I was so pleased. They throw something at me, it's a new toy!

-Do you have at least one toy left?

- It seems not. My mom calls soft toys dust collectors and tries to get rid of them all the time.

- Do you stand up for your soft toys?

- Some basic - certainly. For the last five or six years I have been giving away most of them, but I definitely save one or two from each start. We are bringing these huge bears from the tournament, and at the dacha they are in my room. There is already a bunch of these bears, and I fought for them with my mother. {In general, I like it more when fans throw little toys, but there are a lot of them, and you get a whole waterfall of these toys. It's something special. Indescribable feelings]}

part 3:

- Were there too annoying fans who paid you too much attention?

-I didn’t suffer from it at all. Sometimes awkward, but not because the fans are too annoying. Rather, there is a feeling that you owe something to someone when you are given too expensive things. I don’t like this feeling, I’m very embarrassed, but then they tell me many times that it’s just a gift. Then it becomes calmer, but still the feeling is doubtful.

-Maybe someone constantly writes on social networks?

-Many people write, but the ability to send direct messages is turned off in my account.

-What was the most valuable gift you received?

- iMac, purple. This is Kostornation, a fan group, the second official account. As I understand it, they cooperate with both Russian and foreign fans, with a very large number of foreign fans.

-How did you get this computer?

- The admins wrote to me: “Alena, we have a gift for you, where and when can we come?” I called the date and time, we found a time convenient for each other.

-What are you looking forward to next season? Do you believe that the Russians will be allowed to participate in international competitions?

- The season that will be next year, 2022/23 - no. It's a shame that this is happening. But we cannot influence this in any way. We have our own planned competitions, which will absolutely be. And there are quite a lot of them, I'm pleasantly surprised by this. And there is no point in saying anything more about it.

- Now the federation is discussing the composition of the national team for the next season, whose training will be financed. Do you have concerns about not being included in this list?

-I don't think I'll be on the main list. Hardly. Maybe I'll be in reserve. We must soberly assess the situation and call a spade a spade. I did not compete at the Russian Championship, and this was the main criterion. Therefore, there is nothing to be offended at all if I end up only in the reserve. This is fine.

- And who will be on the team?

- Yes, all the same girls. Anya Shcherbakova, Sasha Trusova, Kamila Valieva, Liza Tuktamysheva, Maya Khromykh, probably. And there is still one vacancy. Maybe one of the newcomers to seniors will claim it. Of the little ones, someone who just came out and showed herself. I don't know, I can't say for sure. I have listed the candidates who should be 99 percent in the national team. And as the federation decides, it's not for me.

- How not to lose motivation when there is neither the World Cup nor the European Championship?

-We will have our own starts. Lots of tournaments. Therefore, it is not like during quarantine, when we did not prepare for anything. We already have a competition plan. When you know what to prepare for, there are no questions. If you are doing what you love, why look for motivation somewhere if you already like it?

- At least once did you have the idea of changing the national team? Now many athletes play for teams from other countries.

— No, it never happened. I have been asked this many times, and I have already said this many times - I have never thought about it and will not, because I have determined my place for myself.

-Was there a moment when you thought about ending your career?

— During quarantine, when we sat and did nothing. At the end of quarantine, I got used to this routine, that I have lessons in the morning, then a tutor, and on weekends I go to the country. Happy running and jumping - for the first time I tried what it's like to live the life of an ordinary child. But at some point it became a little boring, lacking adrenaline, excitement, all the trips. Then I went out on the ice, re-ignited the desire to skate.

- Do you want to become a coach?

-There has never been such a desire. If this is some kind of forced measure, then it is possible. But I hope that my life will be a completely different field of activity.

- Related to medicine?

- Quite possibly. I can't imagine how it will turn out. I will try to enter the medical school, if I do, I will try to study. If I take these exams for twenty years and fail, then I will understand that this is not for me. I'll try myself in another area.

- I understand that the Olympics is not the most pleasant topic for you, but still, let's talk about it. You said you didn't watch the Olympics. Why?

- I understood that if you exclude some factors from my life, I could be there. And not just to keep the gate, to bring napkins and not just to skate for twenty place, but to fight for the highest levels. I could at least fight. But, unfortunately, life decreed otherwise.

- Eteri Tutberidze said that you could participate in the Russian Championship before the Olympics. What were the emotions from her words?

- I was extremely offended, because this is what I do not like in people when they devalue other people's problems. I had a heavy large cast, only two phalanges of my fingers were free, I could do absolutely nothing with my right hand. Because of the cast, the arm itself did not bend to the end. And all our dresses are thin, I won’t shove plaster anywhere. It outweighs me,I can't jump. Not because I don’t want to, but because it is fraught with the fact that I will fall and break my arm more seriously. God forbid, a larger fracture, a longer recovery and treatment, spokes, operations. I don't need it, it's not worth it. I was offended that the coaches thought that I had “a broken finger”, I quote. Although there was a real fracture.

- The Olympics left a lot of questions. If underage athletes compete with seniors, should they be treated like children or not?

- If you compete with seniors, you are already an adult yourself. Maybe somewhere in life - no, but in sports - yes. If you have adult privileges, then you answer as an adult. What is it when you are a child here, I don’t want to be here, I can’t, do it for me, but here I am an adult? This is absolutely wrong. If you are a child, then you compete with children, you have children's rules. If an adult, then adults. And, accordingly, the level of responsibility is for oneself, for one's words and actions.

- After the emotions of Alexandra Trusova at the Games, many fans supported her, while others said that this was unworthy behavior.
- It is impossible to say whether this was worthy behavior or not, you can understand both points of view. A person worked so much, was sure of something, but it didn’t work out here. Naturally, any person will have a reaction. But why was it filmed, I could not understand? Question for the people who did it. What did the video of Sasha's breakdown give? What was it? Why, for what purpose was this done? I don't understand this as a human being.

- It was broadcast.

- Could you somehow move the camera, switch it, couldn't it be done? We would switch to Anya Shcherbakova. For some reason, the Olympic champion sat sad and alone. This was strange too. They could start asking her about some emotions, while Sasha would come to her senses and realize the situation. Is there really so little information that people who are professionally engaged in television should be told about obvious things?

- Did you somehow support Sasha?

-I congratulated Anya. Personally,I didn’t say anything to Sasha, because I understood that in such a situation I would have lashed out at those who support me. Therefore, in order not to get negative, I waited out this moment, then, when we met, I said: “Sasha, okay, everything is fine, you did so much to your five quadruples. In principle, you have fulfilled them, the goal has been achieved. But now there is motivation to continue riding.” She replied: “Yes, in fact it is.” Now everything is fine, the main thing is that the breakdown does not affect her future fate in any way.

- Many consider figure skating the most scandalous sport.

- There are a few. Sometimes there are quite insolent people, this does not even apply to athletes. A lot of information they trying to invent. It happens that terrible things are written, although in fact only three words are said. Absolutely different thoughts were said, but it's all turned upside down. Naturally, a huge number of fans - the browl begins, who is rooting for whom, who is for this athlete, and who is for another, this one is better or this one. This is a big fight, and therefore scandals. The popularity of sports is growing - and there are more scandals.

— How did you react to the YouTube shutdown from monetization?

-I didn’t have much time to monetize it. There should have come a code, and to regular mail. When it came to me, I had already managed to request three others, everything went wrong there. And then they tell me that monetization is disabled, I'm like: "Well, that's great, I won't do it."

- Should you continue your blogging activities?

-Yes, I'm recording a new video soon. Maybe I'll publish it soon. But due to the difficult situation around, it would not be very correct to start constantly posting something.

-What will this video be about?

- I still don't know myself. About everything in the world. The topics are completely different, I don’t have any one, chosen topic. {I will post this video, but I will not do the rest once or twice a week, as originally planned. Maybe two or three a month.}

*Note: Phrases in curly brackets are missing from the video

part 4:

- The other day you wrote a post on social networks: "I am sitting in my Dubaisk, doing nothing."

- As always.

-Seriously, what do you do in your free time?

- Now they gave me a week of rest before training. This, of course, is very small, but nothing terrible. I have certain plans for a few days, and three days, more precisely, two and a half, are free. I will try to get the most out of these days that I don’t have time to do in my normal life when I train.

-What exactly are you going to do?

-First of all, this is vocals, this is a meeting with friends, these are interviews, recordings on the radio - all this. Well, just sit at home and relax.

- By the way, what was poured into that mug in the photo?

- Tea. The mug was even sweaty.

— Many people wrote that it was beer.

- Where? Firstly, this is a state institution, a skating rink. Where can there be beer? Well, what do you think.

-You can bring your own beer.

-No one will carry with us, we are athletes in the first place. Secondly, what kind of lack of culture and disrespect to take beer there? It's tea, of course, because on ice you feel cold. Drinking something hot is okay. But what beer? Jokes are jokes, but this is too much.

- There is a theory that with that photo you answered the criticism of Alexei Zheleznyakov.

- It's not a theory. Yes, that's how it is. I don't understand why so many things are always pouring on me. Actually, as on Dziuba, returning to the same question. There is nothing special about my actions. Yes, I don’t understand why coaches not from my team are trying to say something, advise or put something in my responsibilities. My work will be evaluated by my current coach. Satisfied with me or not, it will remain between me and the coach, or even the team. And the fact that I am given some comments by people who are nothing to me now, except that he is more adult than me ... I can’t characterize this person in any way. Maybe it's good to hype on my name? Joke.

- In life, is he not the same as in social networks and comments for the media?

- Alexey Valentinovich is one of those people who are not very different in life and in what he talks about.

-Would you prefer to limit contact with him?”

- Yes, I don’t communicate with him, I don’t need it. Why do I need communication not with my coaches, this is the same as wasting energy and strength on people from the street.

-We discussed what you drink. Now let's talk about what you eat. Tell me about your diet. Is it hard to watch how you eat in figure skating?

-This is important for any sport. It is necessary to receive a certain amount of proteins, fats and carbohydrates, as well as trace elements. Naturally, no one thoroughly monitors grams, there is no need for this. I don't have one, especially in the off-season. My favorite phrase: "I'll be fat, but I'll be content." Because then I will start training, there will be a load, and I will not have time to go somewhere to eat or even cook. I will only eat food that doesn't take long to cook. It can be boiled chicken breast or vegetables. For this, 15 minutes is enough. I'll make it a week ahead and that's it. This helps to save energy on cooking.

- Diet and constant weighing is ...

-It's terrible and disgusting. The strict diet is completely wrong. Any strict diet. There should be a well-balanced diet, with no restrictions. It is clear that a person will not eat chocolate non-stop for a week - this is wrong in any case. But sweets and some kind of harmful chips can be, you don’t have to eat a whole pack. For example, after half a can of chips, my mouth irritates due to the amount of spices, so I can’t eat anymore, it hurts. I love chocolate very much, I can eat it for weeks, but then I still want to eat normal food. Some ordinary, fresh, for example, buckwheat without anything.

Strict diet is disgusting. As soon as you set yourself a limit, you immediately want to eat everything, you only think about food. The Forbidden fruit is sweet. Constant weighing is the same. You are constantly weighed, given a comment. It can be once or twice a week, this is normal, but if it is several times a day, then this is not normal. It's hard to unlearn from that. I know this, I had a quirk when I always got on the scales - after water or an apple. If you gain 300 grams, then you immediately think that you are fat and you won’t jump in training - and everything blurs before your eyes. An unhealthy attitude is hard to overcome.

-Were you forced to weigh yourself? Why weigh yourself twice a day?

- Because we have two training sessions - morning and evening. There was a moment when we all weighed. Do it yourself in the morning first. Then, before the morning training, the coaches weigh you, watch your weight so that you don’t go on the ice and break your legs. We need to dose the load. Then lunch, after which you watch it yourself again, because you understand that before the next workout there will be a weigh-in again. If you add more than a certain amount there, they will strongly scold you, they will say: “How can you be so negligent about yourself, your health, a sport? In fact, your legs feed you, and you, with your overweight, will go to break them. Of course, with additional weight of 400 grams, you won't break your legs. And what is a dinner of 400 grams anyway? A glass of water - already 250. Then, after dinner, we weighed again. Then you weigh yourself after the second training to see how much you can eat for dinner. If there was not enough, then in addition to the main warm up, there was also walking, running in films, in everything possible, in order to expel water from oneself and everything in a row, so that one could eat something adequate.

— Running in film on skin?

- You wrap the usual cling film on the skin. The pores close tightly, it works like a thermo.

- Did the coaches force you to do this?

-No, we are on our own. That's what athletes do. Someone needs to lose weight and stuff. I know that from this big problems with the heart.

-What if there were consequences?

- There were consequences. Now everything seems to be fine, but still, a device for monitoring the indications of the work of the heart is constantly hung up on me.

- What were the consequences?

- When I skate in the Angels for a year, they did not give me permission. I was conditionally admitted to all competitions, because there were big health problems, we tried to restore it. But they were so global that you kind of treat one thing and cripple another. Some of the permitted drugs help one thing, but it is harmful. And we chose what exactly is needed now. There was a moment when they didn’t give me permission to my heart - sometimes for two weeks. The doctors said: “We will now give you a permit, but something will happen to you, and we will be responsible for it.” And you can understand me that I want to compete, and you can understand them, because it is a responsibility.

- They say that you earn 200 thousand rubles a month. What are you spending this money on?

- The amount is subject to correction, of course.

- Up or down?

-It's a secret! I spend on the same as ordinary people. I set aside part of the amount for travel in order to get there somehow. Then food and stuff. I also have pets. Rabbit for hay, sawdust, something else, dog food. Necessarily diapers, because I am at the skating rink for a long time and cannot walk during the day. Sometimes, of course, I go back and forth specifically for this, but mostly there is a diaper. Ordinary household expenses.

- And the clothes?

- It depends. In general, my wardrobe is already full. I bought the jacket that I'm wearing six months ago and never wore it. Oversize is like that, you can wear it everywhere, but I don’t want something. And I have so many things lying around.

- Is there any envy or resentment towards Russian football players? Top skaters like you, like Valieva, Shcherbakova or Trusova - you are much more popular than many of them, and you earn much less.

- Naturally, it's a shame. I do not want to say anything like that, but it could be somehow corrected. Our federation is trying, there are sponsors, various companies and brands. So in general, everything is fine, just a little insulting. Football is also quite popular in our country, but as a sport in itself, and not as specific individuals. And we are all individual. Probably that's the point. But we don't complain too much.

- What are your favorite clothing brands?

- I don't have any. There are sports ones, but there are no regular brands. I am very short and skinny for all stores. Sometimes the 2XS is too big for me. It's terrible, you have to hem everything. Buy jeans and dont hem it - I don’t know how it can be.

- Are you hemmed jeans now?

- Not now, I have not hemmed ones, this is one case in a thousand. Everything else I do all the time.

- Do you hem it yourself?

- Of course not. Why spoil things? Before the closing of large stores, I dressed in general everywhere. Somewhere a cool blouse, somewhere a scarf. I combine all this and sometimes it turns out very cool.

— What are you think after the closure of some brands in Russia?

- You can find analogues, and through the Internet - in general, everything. Due to the fact that the stores are closed, I just ordered online. Maybe it's leftovers from warehouses. But if you are not tied to a particular brand, you can always find something.

- And the last question. Can you say that you are happy now?

- Yes!
