They chose to exploit a freaking doping case. That Kamila Valieva was most likely guilty of, as her recent B sample suggests. It's a very cathartic way to express her trauma. Nothing wrong in that.
If you read psychology, you would know that is exactly the point of calling something cathartic - 'providing psychological relief through the open expression of strong emotions'. And some of modern therapies are actually asking to express those emotions in a 'public space', because it has better efect. It would be cathartic if it was done in private, or maybe as an exhibition skate. Not as a competitive skate.
Especially not when Kamila is clearly still extremely upset about the situation.

But it's a lie! Eteri and her shonky as Hell doctor drugged Kamila and they've GASLIGHTED her.If you read psychology, you would know that is exactly the point of calling something cathartic - 'providing psychological relief through the open expression of strong emotions'.
Can someone translate what Kamila said in the interview?
And that's just your personal opinion which has nothing to do with psychology as a scienceBut it's a lie! Eteri and her shonky as Hell doctor drugged Kamila and they've GASLIGHTED her.
If she was in another coaching team doing a program about her betrayal that would be one thing.
But this team...they screwed with her health, left her alone to face the press, browbeated her when she fell apart.
It's like watching an abused person grovel in front of their abuser.
It's horrible.

Ah yes, public space = competitive setting, exposed to (social) mediaIf you read psychology, you would know that is exactly the point of calling something cathartic - 'providing psychological relief through the open expression of strong emotions'. And you believe the story about the glass? I'd buy it if Kamila had gone directly to the doctor and disclosed it. Which is what one would do if it was an accident. It was HEART medicine. If I accidentally injested that I'd be so scared I'd go to the hospital. And that's just your personal opinion which has nothing to do with psychology as a science![]()
From what i know they are not allowed to compete internationally this year. And 'competitive setting' is professional skaters everyday life, its theirs public space. The same way Gabby talked about her issues, i don't see why Kamila shouldn't, in any way she want.Ah yes, public space = competitive setting, in (social) media
I doubt any psychologist would call this healthy catharsis.
