2022-23 Cup of Russia - Stage 2 - Sochi

Oh Kirill at least get all you spin levels :( im really worried for him quads and 3As aside his triples seem to have gotten really small, he fought hard for those 2 combos and no splats I was worried after the 3A rep he would just give up but he didn't:console::clap:

Lev did great! My baby deserves his gold

But on another note I dont understand Davydovs content planning like why not put the combo on the 1st lutz why must it be on the second one that is backloaded when he barely ever lands it, its like they want him to get a rep and loose 1 combo  Davydov is legitimately is setting him up to fail this way like he did with Sofia and the 3A-3T in the short last season

It always reminds me of Belyavski who complained in K&C that he couldn't do planned content even in training.

Yes, I actually managed to evenly divide the warmups groups this time around. I’m learning.

The final between Zhilina, Dvoeglazova, Titova and Rubtsova will be explosive.
Glad that Zhilina seem to have found stability. It's the cleanest i've seen her skate with ultra-C in both programs. Speaking of Zhilina, her sister isn't competing this year?

I liked Dvoeglazova's program better at that Moscow competition when there were less quads, it was more charming. But i understand that to be competitive for gold you have to jump multiple quads. Unless you have much bigger PCS and GOEs than everyone and some luck.

I was surprised by the stability of Loginov and Karartynian, but my heart is with two less visible skaters - Timofey Shelkovnikov and Arseny Dimitriev.

Timofey remained in his brother's shadow all last season, and only this season did I discern him as an independent skater with his own image and strong traits. He still has weak "student" jumps, but he has incredibly beautiful "adult" spins.

Arseny Dimitriev is just informal, and it fascinates me how high he climbs, having not quite the right look for the FC, how they choose the right images for him. His strength is in technique, not second score, so he have to get stability in his jumps. But his unlikeability makes him stand out in a big way.

Once again, I want to express my admiration to the Davydenko band, and especially to Anton Shulepov, for the each student is matched with programs based on his individuality, rather than being guided by some general rule of the staff, "everyone skates classics/popular music/rock etc".

Ah so much skating so little time. I've been catching up with Skate Canada so I've only just got to the lads here.

I have no idea what place Kirill S is because I didn't want to spoil myself...oh wait, I just realised I can at least look and see where he ended up in the SP. 5th, not terrible!

But then LOL curiosity got the best of me so I went looking for him on the stream and instead all I found out was no podium. Awww :( I hope he can still make the Nats.

OK, tracked Kirill S down, I do hope he's OK with his jumps. I'm totally loving the new costume though...red's a good colour for him. Hmm, rest of his jumps seem fine, it's just the axel, it's weird, he used to have this really unique entry to it, very deep, but he's changed it and it seems to give him problems. I'm not sure what was wrong with original entry, although Ted seemed surprised about it when he saw it last season, so maybe there is. Maybe he should bring it back though. He looked pretty bummed out after the skate today. Someone threw him a cat stuffie though, nice.

Also they've sure micced up the KnC area haven't they?! I'd be worried about saying anything in there, what if it got taken out of context or something?

Anywho. congrats to the winners  and looking forward to the seniors.
