2022-23 Cup of Russia - Stage 4 - Moscow

Fedi, I love you to the moon and back, but why do you have Karina competing with an injury that's nagging her all over the summer and interfered with her performance in Sochi so much that she was in obvious pain.
Let the girl heal - learn from history. Does the name Ksenia Stolbova ring a bell?

I just remembered that sochi stage was last week. I wonder why they didn't give karina more time to treat her injury and let them compete in next or last stage. I think there is another skater who did that, cmiiw.

Last week was Kazan - it was two weeks but not enough to heal a long running leg injury.

Loved the pairs - Mishina and Galliamov were the class of the field, obviously, but besides them the revelation for me was the pair taking the last place. They are charming and have so much potential!

You should watch their Carmen FS, it's amazing.

Although I don't think they have much potential, she's too tall for him and will be even taller.

Glad K/A are in first. Love them. By the sound of it, they are starting to develop serious following who is starting to riot, lol.

Anyway, going to catch up on women from Zinina on.

Egor has gotten even taller than he was last season:jaw:Sadly not the skate he really would have wanted but he only fell once and had to put his hand down on the 2 quads so its not really that bad:console:

His growth has clearly affected his skating tho, he is so slow on the ice now and his spins are a struggle
:(

Probably doesn't help to be coached by Volkov (I assume he's still with him?), whose skaters tend to be on the slower side and generally don't have very strong spins either - Though at least he has experience with tall quad jumpers, so that might help Egor in the long run.

Who other than Artem has Volkov had success with tho? Even Temas quads are very unpredictable . Vika would have been the perfect destination for Egor, but for his sake I hope things work out with Volkov.

same music twice in a row :laugh2:
Yeah, when that happens it's a sign for the choreographers to stop using that piece and use something else instead.

Yesterday there were two pairs in a row skating to Beth Hart at MK John Wilson Trophy and that's when it was fully decided for me that Beth Hart was now also a warhorse... 😂

Tall girl! Never seen her before and I didn’t quite catch the name because I can’t read Russian. I crypto-grammed the alphabet awhile back, but I forgot most of everything. I’ll do it again once I have the time so I can get the names straight. First name Anna. Last name starts with an English R I believe.
This is Anna Romasyuk, an athlete from the provinces, Khanty-Mansiysk. I am very happy that so much attention is given to her and that she has achieved such fame. This girl grew up in a village not too far from my city, I always support her very warmly. She trains in a settlement called Pokachi, not far from the Megion and Novy Urengoy, as well as the settlement Pangody, where my parents got married and my older brother was born. All of these names may be familiar to you if you are interested in oil and gas production.

We are all proud of Anna, she is the first girl in our region to receive the title of Master of Sports in figure skating.
I am very glad that figure skating is actively developing in our region and our athletes can show such good results, they can even be released at European competitions.

Yeah, all of Volkov's (current and former) skaters are very inconsistent (including Sasha Trusova 👀), but some of them have really nice quality quads like Semen Daniliants.

It's just that their quads don't help them because the rest of their skating is not good enough to be even remotely competitive even with quads.
