2022-23 Cup of Russia - Final - St. Petersburg

Unfortunately i think that she feel she can't.
She would if she was in Italy or Switzerland. Expiry date is for Russia only.
Unfortunately this is a point. They are all ambitious, and in Russia you are not first-rate without ultra-c. If she moves outside she can be the local heroine there but the big medals are again won by others.

Apparently, Samo has grown 8 cm since she joined Sokolovskaya's team and is now 1.66 m, and it's giving her a lot of trouble.

Unfortunately for Samo, I don't think she's done growing either, so it might be some time before she's able to fully adjust to one height.

I honestly dont know what kind of career she can have in Russia at this point. I want to have hope she can bounce back but if she continues to grow and her rotation continues to slow down her tiny jumps will start giving her even more trouble than what they are doing now.

The question lies in whether Sokolovskaya can fix her jumps and get her quads/3A back ?

The interesting part of the music takes too much to happen. This program works because Guschina has some charisma.
I said earlier in the season that she reminded me Samodurova but she definitely has better jumps.

In case Russians return to the international competitions I really wonder how they deal with the raise of the age limit.

It's not that they toss skaters aside after reaching 18, it's that there isn't much incentive for someone like Zagitova to give full commitment to the sport each to place 10th at the national championship and never go to an international event, her only chance for a medal a bronze at a domestic GP stage, all her biggest achievements behind her.

What's the alternative? Put Shcherbakova, Trusova, Kostornaia in the national squad ahead of Gorbacheva, Muravieva? Favour skaters based on past achievements even though there are more deserving skaters for a spot in the national squad?
