2023 World Figure Skating Championships Pairs Short Program

I haven’t been following pairs for a while, too little on tv nowadays… question - why are SO many teams speaking russian in kiss and cry but representing other countries - Australia, Netherlands, Hungary? Is it because Russia was banned or did this start a long time ago? How do they get citizenship?

whew... my southern kiddos did OK, uncharacteristic 3Lo fall but very quick recovery by Anastasia
I would have expected any mistake to come from Hektor considering the state of his knee at Jr Worlds, but no sign of that here so I guess that's positive

"after contributing to the team event at the olympics" ... sigh... not being able to even tell the colour of the medal still...

I think you only need citizenship for the Olympics. Someone will come along and correct me if I’m wrong.

They do not need the citizenship for WC 4cc or Ec, only for olympics. The Dutch ones have been there for sevetal seasons. Alisa Efimova is born in Finland.

I must admit, I don't really understand the scoring for some of the pairs here. I don't want to complain or start a controversy or anything like that, but for example Hocke/Kunkel were scored very low, eventhough other pairs with similar mistakes didn't get dinged in scores half as much. 🤔
