I am so glad. He has a great free program. Remember he won the free at US Nationals so he should move up quite a bit in the free and hopefully he will be less nervous in the free.

It's just sad overall - why can't they just do a draw.
It always affects someone and feels unfair.

Though Maurizio is not the typical PCS guy. He just fought hard to avoid big mistakes.

Well, one can of course argue that consistency is rewarded with this system. But it's not in the rules and it is not a feature of sportive competitions that results of earlier competitions shall count in. In a competition you should have the ability to make it on the day.
Also, the PCS are even more irrelevant this way. With an amazing jump outlet you can make it out of your first group into the final, but nobody cares about your skating skills if you are in the first groups...
