2023 World Figure Skating Championships Women's Free Skate

I must say, I underestimated Haein going into Worlds. I would not have had her on the podium, just because she's been so hot and cold this season, doing amazingly in one competition and then bombing at the next competition, however, today she absolutely delivered.

That will be at least a silver, and it will be up to Kaori to decide if it might end up being a gold after all.

Way to go Haein! What a great skate! Her jubilation when she landed her last jump, and the huge smile she had as she passed directly in front of the judges, and how she delivered everything, jumps, step sequence, spins, performance, all of it fantastic. She has come on so much this year - and well done on her season's best free and overall score!

Being a viewer I really enjoy this competition - you have to be clean to lead. No "did 3 quads so can afford a few falls" situation.
That's why I really don't understand the complaint that competitions are "boring" without the Russians.

Sure, there might not be as much difficulty attempted in some of the disciplines, but because the playing field is so equal, every single thing counts, every small mistake could make or break your medal hopes. Nobody can anticipate what will happen at all.
