Your own personal season 2023-24 wishlist

I want the Valieva situation to be cleared up.
I want the Russians out of international competitions as long as this war continues.
I want more interesting music and please no bland pop remixes of rock songs.
I want the guys who had great breakout seasons in 2022 to prove they can rise to the top...Adam, Matteo, Jun etc.
I want Kaori as well as Piper and Paul to shine.
I want more Jason Brown of course.

I second the wish to have accessible coverage - be it on Youtube, Peacock, or wherever. Last season was a disaster trying to watch various competitions.

I also would love to see Deniss Vasiljevs get another North American Grand Prix - and medal at both GP and Euros!

I wish to go to Sonja Henie Trophy in Oslo and watch figure skating live for the first time of my life.

(There, I also wish to bump into a very handsome figure skater who I end up getting married too, so I can live my whole life with a figure skater traveling around watching figure skating the rest of my life and possible getting a baby who turns out to be a future OGM )

I wish for someone to skate to Kääriljä cha cha cha and everyone getting so involved that even the judges can´t help them selves dancing

I wish that my calendar isn´t so full so that I can watch as much figure skating as possible

I wish for Nathan Chen to return to competitive skating

I wish for free streams for every competition, who actually works and have nice quality

I wish for Mark and Ted to be commentating as many ISU competitions as possible

I wish that there will be a Norwegian pair so that we can finally have a skater in every discipline (there was a Norwegian skater at pairs seminar in Bergamo)

I wish for some serious color bomb of costumes in ID with the 80s theme.

I wish that voiceovers has lost it´s popularity

I wish to see Donovan Carillo back in business, healthy!

I hope the ISU comes up with a good solution regarding Russian skaters, Russian coaches, country changes etc. So that non-war supporters have a chance to compete internationally and the others don't.

I hope for some great programs with music I haven't thought of, amazing costumes and original and/or captivating choreos.

I especially hope for women's skating to show more variety in styles and roles and for men to have less light blue-white/dark blue-black/red-black/white-beige colour shaded athleisure shirts with black or grey pants.

I hope for Aymoz to have a season as least as good as this one. For Kaori to get two great programs and that she feels less pressure than she obviously did this season. For Kostornaia that she can actually be competitive as a pairs' skater. For Kagiyama to come back strong. For Pezzetta to develop further.

I hope for myself to be able to go to Angers.

I hope the same sex couples category takes off and gains support.

I hope that the new age limit shows some positive effects already.

And my probably most unrealistic wish is that they start to really develop AI in judging, so that the human judges can concentrate on the areas which are more complex to judge.

Yeah, that's a big wishlist! May some of it come true.
Where do I have to bring my offering?
there's a volcano near my town if you want...make sure your offering still moves...they like it this way:devil:

my wishes: all my children doing well (yes all of them ); more rock, less macarons, more witches and evil queens

I also want the Valieva situation resolved.
I also don't want the Russians in international competition until the war is over and Ukrainians are safe again.
No more war horse music....and current pop music just doesn't lend itself to figure skating - no matter how much you like the song!
I would like to see, on that note, choreographers become more creative like Rohene and find interesting music that's skateable.
I want US Pairs to survive the possible retirement of Frazier and Knierem.
I want Ilia to get some outstanding choreography, skate with no injuries, and continue to evolve.
I want Shoma Uno to continue being a force to be reckoned with and lovely to watch!
I want Jean-Luc Baker and Kaitlyn Hawayek to come back strong and finally win that National title.

There's more, but....

3. Proper, complete pattern dance element restored to the RD;

4. A pattern we haven’t seen recently announced for the 24-25 RD—any of the waltzes, polka, paso doble, whatever, I’m not fussy!
:points:And a reminder to the powers that be, Maple Leaf March (created by Piper/Paul) and Rhumba d'Amour (created by Torvill/Dean) still need a competitive debut...

I'm hoping for the continued growth of ice dance training centres around the world that can healthily challenge IAM in athlete-first approach, skating skills and creativity. It's always good for athletes to have more options. Looking forward to seeing how Zanni, BFP, Margaglio, Charlie et al. step it up!
(There, I also wish to bump into a very handsome figure skater who I end up getting married too, so I can live my whole life with a figure skater traveling around watching figure skating the rest of my life and possible getting a baby who turns out to be a future OGM )
This is a great idea, looking forward to the next Sonja Henie

I also wish for southern hemisphere skaters to have a stellar season, especially the Aussie pair Golubeva/Giotopoulos-Moore and little Kiwi Yanhao Li 🦘🥝

yeah.. but if Peacock ain't ganna give it to y'all, why not look elsewhere.. that was my point ;)
I don't know why they don't. Not tech savvy and intimidated by trying a VPN? Really hate commentary? My parents won't try it, but my mom only wants to see the final group, and she can get that on NBC/CNBC or wherever NBC puts it.

My main wish is for the Russian skaters to be allowed back in international competition ASAP. Can't wait to go see Kami skating again. I think she's magnificent and she's my favorite skater (my entire ice rink adores her and the other Russian skaters).

My personal wish is to keep improving more and more and don't allow low self esteem and mental blockages to hold me back. I have full support of both my coaches, they're both amazing, but often I think they believe more in me than I believe in myself, and I hope to change that.

My personal wishlist part two - favourite skaters edition:

After narrowly missing out on the World's FS, I'd love to see Kyrylo Marsak get the host spot at GP Finland . Not sure how realistic it is, probably also depends a lot on whether the spin doctor decides to stick around, but maybe the Finish Fed can make it work.

Minsol Kwon and Ashlie Slatter/Atl Ongay-Perez have been my discoveries of last season, I hope their new programs will exude the same joy for skating as they did last year.

I'm very much looking forward to the exciting competition Italian men's figure skating will bring, and I wish for Nik to have a splendid senior debut and for Gabriele to get some big international assignments and skate flawlessly everywhere.

Next up, Austrian rookie pairs teams Sophia Schaller/Livio Mayr and Giorgia Ghedini/Luc Maierhofer had some promising results so far, hopefully they can continue on their upwards trajectory and make their mark in international pairs skating. Of course I wish good luck and smooth ice always to all of the Austrian skaters, from newcomers Hannah Frank and Tobia Öllerer to "veterans" Olga Mikutina and Maurizio Zandron (also Maurizio, please get yourself new programs asap ).

Hopping one continent to the west, I'm still waiting for LaLa to do a program to LaLaLand, make it happen already. :dance3:Also, let all the Canadian men skate consistently and challenge for some major medals, especially Conrad, Roman, and Corey.

And finally I have some heartfelt wishes to a couple of skaters who are still extra special to me, but those are already deposited in their respective fanfests, so I'll just leave another  for good measure here.

Yuma Kagiyama to have a healthy comeback

Loena to fully embrace her front runner status and slay another season.

USA to finally get their team gold medal, Japan silver and Canada Bronze.

The Czech ice dance teams to get the scores that they deserved and then some

More Belinda commentary

More weird and kooky programs

This might be wishful thinking but I want smaller feds to start occupying those podium spots especially after seeing how some people thinks that they shouldn't even have to have spots at worlds etc.

I want the rule "difficult exit from a spin" to be gotten rid of! It's so unnecessary and hideous! There are plenty of other ways to show difficulty in a spin that don't require something this distracting. You could see the majority of skaters struggling with it last season. It seems that most of the new rules are done by people who push for less beauty and more tech.

1. The US, Japan, and Canada receiving their Olympic team medals ASAP.
2. A full Olympic cycle ban imposed on Russia for the wide-spread state sponsored doping that happened before and after Sochi--for which they were never held accountable.
3. Great international competitions with no drama and great sportsmanship (made possible by 2.)
4. Loena getting a short program dress that doesn't deserve a deduction and killing it in competition.
5. Caroline and Michael winning a grand prix or world medal (or both)
6. Bradie continuing her post-injury climb up the rankings.
7. The US women getting 3 spots back and deserving them.
8. Kurakowa having great performances and getting the scores she deserves.
9. Canadian women doing well internationally--it's been a while...
10. Jason continuing to skate and make us cry.

I second the wish to have accessible coverage - be it on Youtube, Peacock, or wherever. Last season was a disaster trying to watch various competitions.

They need to do something, the ISU financial report has made it clear that the TV stations themselves, even and especially in Japan but also elsewhere, are not happy with what they are getting for their money and the worse it gets, the less good quality coverage they all will be interested in making. It's a vicious circle.

I do think even if it takes a current financial hit at a time they are losing money, they should go back to putting it all on youtube, maybe with some premium/extra stuff for subscribers. So yeah, that's my entire wishlist for the sport in general.
