nah... it's the lyrics that bug me... A very sexist depiction of women. Opera of that era is very misogynistic. Women get killed, sold, abused, or die from illness... It seems that they can never be happy, especially it seems like they are at the mercy of men or are willing to give all they have for them, even their life. I understand it's a reflection of the society back then, but yeah... I don't like it and I wish young figure skaters got the memo. As you can see... in this opera Gilda dies. Gilda, still unable to relinquish her love for the Duke, has returned disguised as a boy. Overhearing the conversation between brother and sister she resolves to sacrifice herself and die in her lover's place. Entering the house, she is stabbed and stuffed hastily into a sack.

Personally, I think it's step in the right direction. Looks reasonably good for early days, with room for improvement.

it does indeed work thanks to what version and what excerpts they took from malaguena. The piano version may have needed a different skater.
